Kissed by an Angel, 13 American Servicemen and women, Afghanistan

Kissed by an Angel, Where Violins are the Angels Voices,

and the Cello Sings Harmony.

12 US Marines, and one Navy Corpsman named;

SSG Daren Hoover, 31, of Salt Lake City, Utah,

SSG Ryan Knauss, 23, of Knoxville, Tennessee,

SGT Nicole Gee, 23, of Sacramento, California

SGT Johnny Rosariopichardo, 25, of Lawrence, New Hampshire

Corporal Daegan Page, 23, of Omaha, Nebraska

Corporal Humberto Sanchez, 22, of Logansport, Indiana

Corporal Hunter Lopez, 22, of Indio, California

Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz, 20, of St Louis, Missouri

Lance Corporal Kareem Nikoui, 20, of Norco, California

Lance Corporal Rylee McCollum, 20, of Bondurant, Wyoming

Lance Corporal Dylan Merola, 20, of Rancho Cucamonga, California

Lance Corporal David Espinoza, 20, of Laredo, Texas, and

Navy Corpsman Maxton Soviak, 22, or Berlin Heights, OH

All died 26 August, 2021, by a single suicide bomber belonging to a faction of ISIS and facilitated by the Taliban, who America had just turned the capital over to.

It is our greatest single on-ground fatality in Afghanistan since Americans were first posted there following the 9/11 attacks in 2001….almost, but coincidentally, 20 years to the day.

It was entirely preventable.

Stand Down,  Corpsman and Marines

Rest in Peace

Give me, my God, what you still have;

give me what no one asks for.
I do not ask for wealth, nor success,
nor even health.

People ask you so often, God, for all that,
that you cannot have any left.
Give me, my God, what you still have.
Give me what people refuse to accept from you.
I want insecurity and disquietude;
I want turmoil and brawl.

And if you should give them to me,

my God, once and for all,
let me be sure to have them always,
for I will not always
have the courage to ask for them.
