What Have You Done For Me Lately? Twitter “Stars” Edition

I know I’ve been at this too damn long when little anklebiters like Cernovich get on my nerves on a Sunday morning. “I threw the largest Inauguration event of 201, so if you’re new here, kindly shut the f-ck up and read a book before lecturing me about “the base” or 2020. I actively made stuff happen, and I don’t care about 2020, and that should concern people.”

This guy, who was nobody, who joined the ‘Make America Great Again’ movement at the right time in history isn’t concerned with 2020. Has Mr. Cernovich ever walked a precinct? Ever made calls for a candidate in his Democrat wasteland of California? Can Cernovich show he was a Precinct Committeeman? this is the hard in the trenches work of the movement of Republicans. Its not a twirl around the merry go round of movements. I said to Cernovich on that illustrious piece of crap known as twitter, “what have you done for me lately?” I come late to the GOP as my family were union members in Baltimore City, it was Democrats from birth to death – well, I beat that grim reaper, (I’m sure I’ll be voting Democrat after I’m dead again). What I’ve learned in my now 17 years of being a Republican is that the work is hard, it’s slow and it’s both glorious and defeating. This country didn’t get this way overnight and one man, and remember, Trump is an island all by himself, isn’t going to change it all back. It is the JOB of Republicans and patriotic citizens everywhere, to make that change.

2016 was a dream, it was the dream of change of putting a stop to the left. It did just that, it jerked them to a full stop within the government. You’ve watched them thrash about as they try to keep the Overton Window shifted left but Trump broke that window. Millions more now know what so many of us already learned, and you cannot go back to sleep. Many who taught the lessons of the 100 year war against this moral nation to make it immoral, thereby destroying her in 2016, didn’t believe what they’d been teaching. Overton Window

Then along came Donald Trump. On key issues, he didn’t just move the Overton Window, he smashed it, scattered the shards, and rolled over them with a steamroller. On issues like immigration, national security, and even the manner of political debate itself, there’s no window left. Registration of Muslims? On the table. Bans on Muslims entering the country? On the table. Mass deportation? On the table. Walling off our southern border at Mexico’s expense? On the table. The current GOP front-runner is advocating policies that represent the mirror-image extremism to the Left’s race and identity-soaked politics.

The shattering of the window reflects the shattering of the American consensus.

Critically, the Overton Window was smashed not by a politician but by a very American hybrid of corporate/entertainment titan — a man rich and powerful enough to be immune to elite condemnation and famous enough to dominate the news media. How many people can commandeer live television simply by picking up the phone and calling in? How many politicians can cause Twitter to detonate seemingly at will?

I hate that I have to link to NRO, but I despise Beck even more so I wasn’t going to give him the linkage. Those two supposedly “conservative” sites spent much time discussing what America needed, however, when the time came for the medicine, they disappeared. It wasn’t hard to see that Trump thought and spoke as we all had been doing for decades and yet our supposed intellectual betters couldn’t see it, they were blinded by the light. While their level of interference is now diminished, the rise of the twitter star only got up and running in 2015. Twitter stardom will be diminished within a few years, and Cernovich is the proof of that. They are so used to immediacy they cannot see the forest through the trees and will be tripped up at every turn. The American citizen who is drawn to #MAGA recognizes that one man cannot do it all, and are grateful for what has been accomplished. Trump will make 2020 a landslide if he builds the wall and locks ‘old Hillary” up, two things that all #MAGA agree on.

I’ll be attending an event in Washington, DC called American Priority – it is filled to the brim with those who’ve gotten their base from twitter, I’m happy for them. I would never deny anyone the adulation that comes with being at the right place, at the right time, and drawing hundreds of thousands to you. I just wish they’d all start telling their followers that the hard work is on the ground in your precinct, and is indeed, bottom up. Many will not be known in a short period of time because movements come and go, CC the TEA Party, still around but folded into #MAGA. The biggest movement those millions of Trump movement people will join is the GOP – to take it over from within.

Bingo! Not a fan of French any more than he is of Trump, he did a good job here. Great setting the table right, Jaded, so we won’t mistake the salad w/croutons with the main course.

Yes, we need boots on the ground but things are changing, at least here. People don’t want to open their doors to anyone pretty much. I did so much calling in 2016 but we get so many spam calls and masqueraded calls now I don’t answer our land line anymore unless there is a message left.

Great article but there has to be some other options IMO.

The options are setting up outside grocery stores etc, libraries and having a quiet convo with our neighbors. Of course people don’t want to answer their doors the leftwingers are nuts.
