At this writing 8 of the 12 Thai soccer kids have been rescued from hours underneath the ground in a wet, flooding cave. The bulk of the rescue crew are SEALS from the Thai Navy, many trained by American SEALS.
The Fox News story here.
Among SEALS those was Saman Kunan, a retired SEAL, who volunteered to help and who, on the second day, died when he ran out of air.
Though, in all likelihood, not a Christian, Saman met the highest meaning of John 15:13, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” He has truly been kissed by an Angel.
The rescue goes on.
I got to work with the Thai military in ’89, they were hard chargin’. Anyone who would come out of retirement to try something like this has to be hard chargin’ and driven by something beyond himself. Its a good way to go out.
