Why President Trump Reaches We the People

My goodness! The media stories, the distress, the horrible things President Donald Trump said today – in particular those loathsome Twitter tweets…

Thus reads the malignant media’s headlines every day. Front page, even above the fold, sure to make page 1 or at least page 2 or 3 in the newspaper. Better yet, it’s a constant scroll on all the cable news networks, and his words are certainly discussed in detail (cliche: ad nauseam) during the evening newscasts by ABC, NBC, and CBS. Why the distress?

The answer is simple: We the People

It has occurred to me that this day is one of the most hated by the anti-American Left; they can find no joy in celebrating what they could not destroy.

July 4th, 2017 should be noted particularly in American history – at least in these modern liberal times, and as Vassar Bushmills often reminds us – it will depend on who writes the history books.

I, and many others, had doubts we would ever see or experience a REAL 4th of July celebration again – where we truly felt free and in control of our lives. Of course, we’re not completely there, but it sure feels a lot better than it has during the past several decades. Donald Trump brought us out of our foxholes and is leading the charge.

And don’t you just love that the elites are gnashing their teeth knowing that today, this day, we’re laughing and raising our flags proudly instead of being afraid to say we’re American and glad to support our President. Yes, they’ll still key our cars for a Trump bumper sticker, or take down our twitter accounts when we push some Lefties’ buttons, or physically attack us if we dare to wear a “Make America Great Again” hat – but we’re still getting to them. How? Because we’re fighting back. When the Soros funded protests take place, we now see supporters from pro-America groups show up – President Trump supporters, but more importantly, people from all walks of life in this country show up – people who love America.

The Leftist creep into our culture and society reaches back 100 years, but it rose exponentially during the past several decades. The election of Bill Clinton was likely the turning point, George W. Bush’s 8 years created a slight delay, but the election of Barack Obama was the tipping point.

Barack Obama’s presidency unleashed the Leftists – who now ruled with unabashed glee, unrestrained antipathy, and suspended the “Rule of Law” much more literally than figuratively. This is not a melodramatic statement, this is factual. Recall all the incidents where whites, Christians and anyone who did not agree or promote the Leftist Democrat ideology, was suspect and denounced. Too bad if one was a conservative woman, black or other racial or ethnicity, it was only the ideology that mattered. Race and gender are irrelevant to Lefties.

What happened?

We, the people, being sick of the elitists, the pompous ruling class politicians, and their condescending attitude toward those who are the backbone of America have now found our voice, and a restoration of the American Spirit is taking place. This July 4th is the first time in decades we sit on our picnic blankets, backyard chairs, set up the barbecue, and enjoy our “ordinariness” without apology or sneaking ourselves through the catacombs of the tyrannical movement above ground. Mr. Bushmills, years ago, wrote about the importance of being up on the horses, and more recently, indicated that we are now actually up on the horses. (Of course, it’s important that we stay there.)

Why Does President Trump Reach the People?

Donald Trump reminded, nay, encouraged and emboldened us, to once again be freedom loving Americans. (Certainly a thank you is warranted to Hillary Clinton, who unintentionally aided us in turning a negative into a positive – by creating the amazing movement known as “The Deplorables.”) Couldn’t be prouder to be a member.

So today we celebrate, more so than we have in decades – the preciousness of living in America. We’re not to be cowed or hide in our houses anymore, but to get out there and proclaim our inheritance from our Founding Fathers who sacrificed so much to give us the greatest country in the world.

And yes, we are Exceptional, in that we have a great loving heart as a nation, and we’re a stalwart friend in the eyes of the world.

I’ve always loved Les Miserables, the book, a dozen or so movies I’ve seen, it remains one of the driving forces in my life. Its set in France but it describes the American dream very well. “If you work long and hard enough you can have anything you desire.” My Father (1945- present). Dad was a farmer, he was on the pro-Walleye tour, he’s retired now and readily admits his entire life is a weekend, he only does what he wants. Dad worked for that privilege all his life, with Mom at his side. What an amazing life. It’s high… Read more »
