@USAA A Day Late And Millions Of Dollars Short

It is quite lovely that USAA has decided that Sean Hannity isn’t the devil incarnate. It is too late though because, like Target, and other sundry “businesses” they decided that their social justice business was more important than their actual money making business. It is not the purview of companies to insert themselves into the lives of their customers. It is their job to make a profit for the shareholders or owners of those businesses. That USAA lost sight of that fact means that no apology will be good enough for those who don’t mix their business with their personal lives. Lessons will be learned and businesses will go under because they’ve forgotten the first rule of business, make money. Green doesn’t care where you go to the bathroom, where you advertise your product, but it does care about adding to the pile of green. So USAA, there will be no rush to use your services by Americans who’ve left your company; there are way to many other companies who provide the same services without moralizing. USAA financial services firm says it is reinstating its advertising on Sean Hannity’s Fox News Channel program after receiving heavy criticism from many of the military members and veterans that it serves.

The company said Tuesday it will also start advertising again on other programs where it had suspended its ads, including “Hardball” and “The Rachel Maddow Show” on MSNBC, and Jake Tapper’s “The Lead” on CNN.

USAA was one of 10 companies that had pulled ads from “Hannity,” who had been attacked for reporting a discredited story involving the death of a Democratic National Committee staff member. Hannity has said he will no longer talk about conspiracy theories on Seth Rich’s death last year.

I also think it is quite decent of Mr. Hannity, via Twitter, to ask his supporters to once again support USAA. I would tell Sean that turning the other cheek just gets the other side slapped. You see, once these companies out themselves, being out of sync with their customer base, there is but one thing left to do – let them die on the sidelines of leftism. So many companies, from Macy’s on down, since Trump starting running, have shown that your dollars are funding the very destruction of this great nation.

Give them no quarter.

Just catching this story from your post, Jaded. Sean Hannity is indeed being gracious. USAA obviously lost sight of who their customer base was – either that or lefties are running the company. We’ll see. In the meantime, as you said, “millions of dollars short” (lost). Bad, bad business decision.

These kinds of business debacles make good lessons in the graduate school classes.


Sean urging his listeners to continue supporting USAA if they already were doesn’t surprise me. He has said often on his radio show he doesn’t like boycotts and never urges anyone to support one, whether it’s against a conservative or a liberal. He thinks they’re counterproductive, although the Target CEO and his former colleague Bill O’Reilly may disagree.


USAA, United Servicemen’s Automobile Assn. You have to be on active duty or prove your veteran status to open an account there. I’ve been a member for over 20 years. Who the hell do they think their members are? They had better move to the right or they will be invited to kiss my ass.

Unlike other companies, I think the membership (all military and vets and family) jerked a knot in the company’s behind pretty quickly. Look for some board members to lose their jobs.
