- WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?
There are so many things wrong with that picture, it’s hard to catalog them all. Obama with the insufferable chin-in-hand pose, Kerry grinning like the idiot he is, Hollande playing the charming host. Not to mention the ornate surroundings – probably a dining room in the Palace of Versaille or somewhere in the City of Lights.
Well, what’s so awful about those things? It’s just heads of state posing for a photograph at a dinner, you might say. Well, context is everything kids. The occasion for the dinner was a conference in Paris with the subject entertained by the illustrious world leaders, as hosted by the President of France, being the global fight against….Climate Change. The date of the gathering is 29 November, 2015.
Now, in case it has somehow slipped your mind, refresh your memory with this item as taken from Wikipedia:
On the evening of 13 November 2015, a series of coordinated terrorist attacks occurred in Paris, the capital of France, and its northern suburb, Saint-Denis. Beginning at 21:20 CET, three suicide bombers struck near the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, followed by suicide bombings and mass shootings at cafés, restaurants and a music venue in Paris.
The attackers killed 130 people, including 89 at the Bataclan theatre, where they took hostages before engaging in a stand-off with police. There were 368 injuries, 80–99 serious. Seven of the attackers also died, while authorities continued to search for accomplices. The attacks were the deadliest on France since World War II, and the deadliest in the European Union since the Madrid train bombings in 2004. France had been on high alert since the January 2015 attacks in Paris that killed 17 people, including civilians and police officers.
That’s right, it’s been just barely over two weeks since 130 people were killed and almost 400 injured in Paris in the worst attack on France in over 70 years. But the assembled aren’t there to plan on fighting the Global War on Terror, they’re there to plot against the weather. One of the most disgusting statements ever made by a world leader was this, from the derelict and despicable Barack H. Obama, President of the United States:
“Next week, I will be joining President Hollande and world leaders in Paris for the global climate conference,” Obama said during his prepared remarks.
“What a powerful rebuke to the terrorists it will be, when the world stands as one and shows that we will not be deterred from building a better future for our children,” he added.
Winston Churchill must be literally spinning. But of course, that’s just the Barack H. Obama we have all grown to know and despise. What was really wrong with the picture featured above is that it was taken at all. What was really wrong was that there was a “climate change” conference in Paris at all. And what was really, really wrong was that it was hosted by this man, the President of France, Francois Hollande:
This is what Francois Hollande told the French Parliament on November 16, three days after the attacks:
French President Francois Hollande called on the United States and Russia to join a global coalition to destroy Islamic State in the wake of the attacks across Paris, and announced a wave of measures to combat terror in France.
“France is at war,” Hollande told a joint session of parliament at the Palace of Versailles, promising to increase funds for national security and strengthen anti-terror laws in response to the suicide bombings and shootings that killed 129.
France is at war? Really?? And so two weeks after the deadliest attacks in France since World War II (and there were some very deadly attacks in World War II, both before and after the French surrender) and two weeks after saying there needed to be a global coalition to destroy the enemy, Hollande agrees to host a summit for the purpose of forming a global coalition to, in the words of his charming guest Barack H. Obama, “send a powerful rebuke to the terrorists” as they “stand as one” to discuss ways to defeat………..climate change.
To the people of France, and especially to the families of those 129 slain in the heart of Paris, we can only say “We are sorry your leader can’t keep his mind on the mission. We can only imagine the anger on top of your grief. There was a time when America would come rushing to aid and liberate France and rout those who would seek to destroy you and your way of life. Alas, that time is long past. Now, we have a government determined to avoid the task at hand in favor of talking, with your leader and other leaders, about the weather. We feel your pain, as you felt ours on September 11, 2001 after the deadliest attack on American soil since World War II. But both our countries are now governed by idiots, who, in both word and deed, show that they care not for their own countrymen. Sacre bleu.”
