State-Run Media? The Networks Aim To Please

Valerie Jarrett

Well, at least I can still be shocked sometimes.

I don’t watch “The Good Wife” on CBS; really I don’t. The BW does, though, and she had it on tonight and I happened to look up from my laptop and there she was in all her glory – Valerie Jarrett in a cameo appearance as herself.

As far as I know, Valerie Jarrett is still Senior Advisor to the President, I believe having returned after a stint working on Obama’s re-election campaign. There were various Internet rumors last year about her undertaking secret initiatives to Iran, her native country. I know political figures, especially candidates, go on talk shows for the exposure. But for people in sensitive government positions to make appearances in dramas, is that not a bit over the top? Undignified, or compromising, or something?

If that wasn’t enough, on the same show, the real Norah O’Donnell of CBS (formerly NBC) News fame is also making a guest appearance, as herself.

Norah O'Donnell

Of course, all this follows the preceeding show, “Madame Secretary”, the thinly-veiled tribute and possible presidential campaign-abetting series for Hillary.

These relationships aren’t just one night stands. They are genuine love affairs:

Jul 23, 2012 – Former White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett will join actor Julianna Margulies at a cocktail fund-raiser for President Obama’s re-election ..

Now, we all know that the media, especially the networks, are lapdogs these days, but is there no consideration whatsoever of contributions-in-kind to the Democrat Party , or at the very least a blatant breach of professional ethics with these lovefests? The FCC and the FEC are just all right with these antics? Or are these just supposed to be counterattacks by the allies of the Sociofeminists in the ‘War By Socialist Women On The Fictional War On Women’? Clinton, O’Donnell, Jarrett portrayed as icons and having their heroic legacies secured for them? Who’s next? Susan Rice? Janet Napolitano?

Dinesh D'Souza

Whatever, I’m thinking to myself: “And Dinesh D’Souza is a convicted felon for a paltry $20,000 contribution to Wendy Long?” And then it strikes me – I know why Eric Holder resigned. He has been offered the opportunity to star as himself in a reality-themed docudrama next season on NBC. He will portray himself as the greatest Attorney General and Civil Rights Leader ever to grace the American political stage.

Do not pooh-pooh the suggestion. These people – politicians, newsies, “federal officials”, network executives, all of them – are so full of themselves and each other, and they are so enabled, it is eerily, sickeningly uncanny. Role models for your children, don’tchaknow? Heaven help us.
