Breitbart Vindicated. But It Won’t Matter.

“Yo,like we just wanted to, like, farm and $#!+ ….  50G’s?  Dat’s cool.”

You all remember the Pigford affair as described by Andrew Breitbart.   And how Breitbart was lambasted as a racist and/or an evil videotape editor not only by the MSM but also by conservative pundits far and wide.  Well, as it turns out, Breitbart was right in spades.  As reported, though nuanced, by the GAO , the Pigford settlement scheme was not only a vehicle for fraud, it was designed so that the fraud was virtually undetectable.

For example, by the terms of the settlement agreement, most claims must be evaluated based solely on the information submitted by the claimants and, as a result, the adjudicator of these claims has no way of independently verifying that information.

Let’s go slowly through that paragraph. There are three main points it makes:

  1. “By terms of the settlement agreement” shows the fraud is baked right in. This is a feature, not a bug.
  2. “most claims must be evaluated based solely on the information submitted by the claimants” means that a majority of claims are judged based only on statements by the person who stands to collect a $50,000 check.
  3. “adjudicator of these claims has no way of independently verifying that information” means that there’s no way for the person judging the claim to check for fraud.

Posthumous kudos to the late Andrew Breitbart for doing the work that congressional overseers won’t do. Unfortunately, Andrew had no power of enforcement, only the power to shine the light of day.  And unfortunately, there is no lesson to be learned by the forces of evil here.

For what they have already learned is that there will be no consequence for their acts. Because just that a government agency or adjunct reports something, as when the US Commission on Civil Rights reported on the New Black Panther incident in Philadelphia in the 2008 election, or as the Inspector General reported on the corruption surrounding Sacramento Mayor and Friend Of Obama Kevin Johnson, or, as various and sundry agencies and committees reported, on the wild and costly retreats-cum-orgies of the GAO itself, nobody in any branch of the government is willing to do anything about it. The scofflaws and subborners and enablers of fraud at various levels of government are merely given dirty looks (either that or winks) and allowed to retire quietly at full pension and with all the perks had they received honorable discharges.

And so the fundamental transformation and redistribution (and ludicrously obvious stealth reparations) schemes proceed apace in America, exposed by the alternative media but unopposed by any sanctioning body.

Meanwhile your Congressman continues to collect his $174k salary and perpetually run for re-election, while maintaining an office staff with an average annual budget of a cool $1million. Yes, that’s another scam that goes on without consequence, except to your pocketbook.
