I have seen many a person use Intrade as a valuation of exactly where candidates are at any given moment because they say, they have “actual money” invested in it. I personally have never believed such hype but not because it can be manipulated but because it seemed so damn stupid. So today a Democrat operative named Ezra Klein made the point for all that its not just stupid but indeed it can be manipulated and then used by the likes of ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN to say “hey folks look over here, people with money think Obama will win”. So I personally would like to thank Ezra for showing the rest of my fellow conservatives and Independent voters across America that Intrade is not a measurement of enthusiasm for a candidate, it is a online site to be manipulated by those with extra cash in their pockets I Think InTrade Should Sue Ezra Klein For Destroying Any Validity They Had
Media Bias: What kind of person would call for manipulation of markets to fool the press into thinking his candidate was in the lead? A sleazy politico? Nope. Try Ezra Klein, a Washington Post writer. Wow.
‘If I ran a campaign, I’d have people make big buys on InTrade after debates, conventions, etc. in order to persuade press that we won,” tweeted Klein on his Twitter account Tuesday.
Such underhanded thinking might be recognizable coming from a nasty political operative alongside advice on how to stuff ballot boxes or intimidate voters.
But coming from even an opinion writer at the vaunted Washington Post, in what amounts to a casual call to manipulate the news is a new low.
Such thinking from a mainstream outlet coarsens our political culture and ought to be anathema to anyone interested in reporting the unspun truth.
But Klein has a long history of lurching from mere opinion to activism which, based on this tweet, includes shading facts even for his colleagues.
“I think that the creation of a media environment that can sustain and propel progressivism is more important than any single elected official,” he told the Washington Monthly in 2004. “The media is as effective and important an agent for change as the legislative bodies.”
Remember also that Ezra Klein was the creator of JournOlist. I think we all can remember how members of the so called mainstream media worked with Ezra to destroy Sarah Palin. It will be sites like ours that record the truth of history for our children, not those born out of Democrat operatives being paid to do “media”.
