Mitt Romney’s Strength Comes From Faith, Not Fear

One of my favorite sites to visit since a Lady Penquin reintroduced me to it, is HillBuzz. I paid close attention to them and their ferocious defense of Sarah Palin in 2008 but then moved on to other places, finding my own ‘home’ here at Unified Patriots. What Hillbuzz has offered me in the past couple of months is what I offer to others now, good news, a chin up and righteous knowledge that this election is bigger then Obama and Romney – it is about America and who she will be for our children and grandchildren. Like HillBuzz, I too, have found out that Mitt Romney could be no more right for the job of President of the United States of America at this critical time than any other person I supported in the primaries. Mitt Romney was not among my choices in the GOP primary, but my fellow Americans chose him to be the GOP nominee and it turns out they made a smart decision. The Obama campaign, his faculty lounge administration, and their liberal friends in the press, which would be all of them save for a few at FOX News, have painted the picture of a dastardly man, a thief who stole money from poor people, a felon they said, and worst of all, a Mormon. That last one piqued me the most because we know Barack Hussein Obama sat and listened to scripture “made up” in a Black Liberation Theology “church.” If he can be President, so too, can a Mormon. What are we looking for in a President? I am not looking for a minister, I am looking for someone to fix the problems of our debt, someone to roll back burdensome government regulations, and return the federal government to its original, much smaller role in our lives and the nation as a whole. Mitt Romney represents what most of us want from our government, therefore it is a simple choice on election day.

What my fellow Republicans, Conservatives and TEA Party Americans did when choosing Mitt Romney is they chose a man who walks the talk. He has lived his life not as a man who needs all the trappings of his wealth (I suspect the Romneys will not need 1.4B to take care of their needs in the White House). He has bought houses that are large (they needed to be), he has a huge family. Not opulent palaces, just enough space for his many children and property for the horses that help his wife with her Multiple sclerosis symptoms. He never felt the need to buy jets and furs and diamonds, nor did his ego have him running in the elite circles that so many others seek. He is indeed a man true to his faith and his love of God and Country Have You Heard Of Mitt Romney’s Utah House?

To move, if we can afford the cost, most of us would hire movers with a team of workers. To save money, many of us are the do-it-our-selves types. Which did Mitt Romney do? Like many of us, on his own he rented a six-wheel truck and moved himself. He drove to the local Home Depot and purchased wood to build whatever he needed for the transport. Mitt moved his family’s clothes, his family’s photos, his family’s mementos, his grandchildren’s toys. With the help of a friend and family, they loaded the truck. Then, after answering all our questions, Mitt Romney said his goodbyes, climbed into the truck, and began the long drive to his new home by himself. The Romney Park City home, which they designed and built, and its contents had much to say. Having raised a family of our own, we saw that the home was built with a focus on his family. No swimming pool, tennis court or movie theater. There are no maid, butler, or nanny quarters. Clearly Ann and Mitt raised their kids. No gold faucets, no fancy silverware. The kitchen was simple and typical of an average three-bedroom home, very much like those in which we were raised. We were struck by the discovery that most of the art, furniture, and all the curtains were made in America and many by local craftsmen. Most of the linens were of good quality but not what is found at very high end, exclusive stores. The master bedroom pillows had tags from the average American’s most popular discount store.

Mitt Romney doesn’t need the trappings of power to be strong, his strength comes from his belief in God, and his business acumen will empower We The People. We will not need the federal government to tend to our every need because America will rise again with a Mitt Romney presidency, and all boats are lifted when America is at her best. There is much to do and his task will not be easy, but today, in this moment, I know that Mitt Romney is the best man for the job. And that is exactly what we are voting for on Nov. 6th, an individual to do a job – it was not meant to be an opportunity to recline in royal quarters and plunder the peoples’ treasury. When one fails at that job, it is our Constitutional right to fire him or her, and the same holds true for the Congress. Let’s get America working again, it is time.

  1. Romney was my 4th choice, but now that I’ve had a chance to see what how an all out presidential campaign is waged and the war it really is, I think Romney was probably most equipped to handle that part. From what I’ve learned about his business acumen, but more importantly, his personal life, there is no doubt that he is the right man in the right place at the right time for America.
