Well, it finally happened. I had a chance to attend a rally presented by VP candidate Rep. Paul Ryan at Toledo Express Airport this day.
The rally began with local dignitaries including Rep. Bob Latta (R-OH5) and then attenders were treated to the rousing speech of Governor Mitt Romney in Virginia, live-streamed, speaking on foreign policy. When Ryan took the stage following the Governor’s speech he stated:
We just watched what leadership looks like.
Below is my short video taken as Rep. Ryan took the stage:
Ryan stated President Obama has failed to offer:
spirited and principled leadership [sic] and He [Obama] is mischaracterizing our support for veterans. Let me make one thing very clear, in the House budget that we drafted and that we passed, we fully met and exceeded the president’s request for…veterans funding by $270 million, We didn’t think the president’s went far enough and we expanded it because we know this is a promise that must be kept. These people put their lives on the line and in a Romney administration we will always keep our promise and our commitment to our veterans.
Ryan received a standing ovation when he stated he and Governor Romney when they are elected to office will open the Keystone Pipeline, which will created thousands of jobs. He also stated:
When we know that we are clearly attacked by terrorists, we won’t be afraid to say what it is. If terrorists attack us, we will say we had a terrorist attack and more importantly, we will do what is necessary to prevent that from happening by having a strong military, by making sure that our adversaries do not test us, do not think that we are a weak and in retreat.”
And for the ladies who were wondering, even though I was sitting towards the back: he looks even BETTER in person than any picture you’ve seen…
