Thank God she got Lady Gaga that gig in Rome. Her place in history is secured.
June 27, 2011:
(CNSNews.com) – Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Monday that the State Department played an instrumental role in “sealing the deal” for pop-rock star Lady Gaga to perform at a gay pride rally in Rome, Italy.
Clinton specifically pointed to a letter that David Thorne, the U.S. Ambassador to Italy, sent to Lady Gaga urging her to participate in the event.
“And then there is the work that our embassy team in Rome has been doing,” Clinton said. “Two weeks ago they played an instrumental role in bringing Lady Gaga to Italy for a Euro Pride concert.
Anyway, if you want to know how bad it is, go to the US Department of State website. Try to find out something about traveling in the Middle East. You would think that with the Middle East a raging inferno, with Americans being slaughtered for fun by Islamists of every stripe in the Near and Middle East, there would be big red flags. You can find travel warnings if you learn how to navigate the site and go through ten or fifteen clicks. Even then, the info is two or three days old. I guess State takes the weekend off.
But take heart. Information about The Hajj is readily accessible. With just a couple of clicks, the State Department is there for you. Everything you need to know, all the details,
including a detailed description of what the Saudi Government permits and does not permit.
The complete chaos that is the US Department of State cannot be by design. And of course it didn’t start with Hillary. But just let me emphasize that we don’t yet have a good grasp of how bad things are, not only at State but in every nook and cranny of the Federal Government. And we won’t unless we, and by “we” I mean our elected officials, make it our business (actually it’s their duty) to examine them.
It’s not just the ideological guidance, not just the corruption and criminality, not just the loss of moral definition and abandonment of Constitutional principles, not just the blind political correctness, though those are some of the hallmarks. It is the cluelessness. It is the muddled and muddied definition; it’s the growing incompetence, stupidity, lack of professionalism and sense of duty. And unless the incoming administration realizes this, deals with it and uses it’s bully pulpit to explain it and push for it’s correction, it will be a thing just as solidly in place tomorrow as it is today.
