This article isn’t about the president’s citizenship – suffice it to say his mother was a citizen of the United States and no matter where in the world Barack Obama may have been born, he would have automatically received U.S. citizenship. This holds true even if born on the high seas. We’ll leave it to the legal scholars to sort out his mother’s possible twists and turns of citizenship choices. In the end, I believe President Obama is a citizen, but that he is also a foreigner in this land, one who has never adapted to nor embraced America as the country of his birth. In other words, America is not his native land.
If we start from this premise, that Barack Obama is a foreigner, everything he has done or said over the past 4 years makes much more sense. We already know that while he was born with U.S. citizenship, he spent most of his childhood living in foreign countries. Barack was raised, mentored and influenced by Marxist/Communist ideology. He was schooled in a madrasa, an Islamic religious school. Culturally, growing up in foreign lands makes you more a “native” of those lands. What we have then, is a man who is more comfortable in Indonesia or Kenya or Pakistan than the United States. It explains why he has an almost opposite worldview, sharply contrasting with America’s. His worldview rejects the entire premise on which this nation was founded, inscribed by the Founders in The Constitution, and which includes a spiritual core and moral compass based in Judaic-Christian precepts. Since we are all products of our environment (nature and nurture), Obama’s worldview would be expected to be at odds with America’s, and it is. It doesn’t mean one cannot adapt and take on the philosophical ideology of one’s adopted country – America is made up of immigrants who within one or two generations embraced the culture and freedom this land had to offer – but it does mean that the current resident of the White House, while American born, is foreign made.
The concept of foreign fits Obama in almost every sense of the word, whether it is culturally, spiritually, or emotionally. From the earliest days of his presidency, he seemed like an alien in a strange land. Many Americans, likewise, were puzzled. The Left went crazy over those who believed Obama was illegitimately holding the presidency because of birth certificate issues. They did, and still do, scornfully call them “birthers.” But the Left was missing or deliberately ignoring why the people had such angst – they were seeing a man in the highest office of the land, act like a foreigner, not an American. It really is as simple as that. Barack Obama was packaged and his past sanitized by the Left, then presented to the American people who were told, “Here is your president.” Is it any wonder there would be suspicion and doubt? No, but the Left has spent the past 4 years ridiculing those who would question a man with a covered-up past.
Those of us from this side of the political spectrum were trying to fit the images and behaviors of this man into the template of what we expected of our president. Over and over, we failed and could not understand why the reality we were seeing and our expectations did not mesh or fit. From his distant and disdainful attitude towards so many treasured American beliefs to his outright indifference to important traditional observances, whether it was not going to Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day, or the lack of the annual Easter Greetings message to the American people, or not holding the National Day of Prayer breakfast (but holding an Iftar dinner marking the end of the Islamic Ramadan fast), Obama simply is tone-deaf to American traditions and norms. Also consider the not-so-benign act of returning the Winston Churchill bust to the British people (it resides in the British Embassy now); all of these contributed to the conclusion that this man is not one of us.
He is unlike us in heart and soul. Some would say this is unimportant, but that’s not true. Being one of us, holding the highest office of the land, means you believe in the American people, in her goodness, yes, even in her greatness. You don’t see color or class, you see an American spirit of “can do and will do,” not “you didn’t and you can’t.” Americans have always believed in the concept of individual freedom, self-reliance and motivation, personal responsibility and accountability; our Constitution was designed for the common man and woman to be free and have the opportunity to be successful. It’s what built this country.
Barack Obama uttered the now infamous words, “You didn’t build it. Somebody else made that happen.” This extraordinary, condescending remark stabbed at the hearts of Americans everywhere. If anyone had any doubts or uncertainty about the origins of this man, those words should make it clear he isn’t an American at heart. He is a statist, with a deeply embedded Marxist/Communist ideology, and this ideology is toxic to the well-being of America. It is anti-American. For four years we’ve had to listen to his dripping disdain, derisive remarks and suffer with his marginalization of the American people. It wasn’t just business he was denigrating, it was everything about America. He cannot see or comprehend that in America we build our families, our communities, our churches, our schools. This country grew to her greatness because of the freedom individuals had to come here and make a better life for themselves and future generations. Almost all immigrants look at America with pride and gratitude, not so Obama. And in a metaphorical sense of the word, he is an “immigrant” too.
(Side note: we did our “building” much better before an elitist statist oriented government decided that they were smarter and better than the individual. The socialist/communist approach to our American way of life has given us broken families, broken schools and decaying communities. But that’s a topic for another day.)
This brings me to another important point. There are others in this land who are also anti-American. They’ve been subverting the American culture for decades, and do not have America’s best interests at heart. Whittaker Chambers wrote about the beginnings of this infiltration and subversion in his book, “Witness.” Today we see the fruition of their efforts. They’ve succeeded in creating, whitewashing and sanitizing an unknown’s past and they installed him as president of the United States. This was a concerted effort, and thus we now know that there are many anti-Americans among us, especially in our major institutions of academia, judiciary, entertainment, unions, and the malignant media. These institutions are filled with left-leaning individuals who have been complicit in trying to subvert the Constitution and are seeking to destroy America as we know it.
Do I believe Barack Obama dislikes America? Yes, I do. Anyone who can speak so disparagingly about this nation, and apologizes for her, and condemns her “exceptionalism” clearly does not like this country or what it stands for. Instead of appreciating her goodness, her nobleness and her people who try to do what’s right in this world, and who have a moral compass, he flings into the American psyche insults of “clinging to their religion” and “have antipathy to people who are not like themselves.” The only antipathy I have seen has been from this man, exhibited during his entire presidency, and directed toward the American people.
Considering what we now know about Barack Obama, please ask yourselves the question, “What is this man doing as our president?”
