Knightmare: Government Takes a Bow in Aurora

I hope all those politicos tooting their own horns over the government’s response to the theater shooting get their just desserts and soon. The Governor of Colorado, the Mayor of Aurora, and the Police Chief are patting each other on the back for, well, what are they so proud of, exactly? Seventy people went down, for God’s sake. It’s a tragedy and may God comfort the survivors and their families. Is it too much to ask politicians to shut up and let the churches, professional counselors and families go about the business of healing the victims? You know the answer to that.

What about Cinemark’s no gun policy?

I have argued with pantywaists how one guy with a carry permit might have prevented some of the killing. All I got was, you are nuts, more innocent people would have been hurt. It’s like they can’t understand the concept that 70 people were shot. Seventy!

It’s always “possible” that some hero could miss and take out an innocent. So, apparently to the logic challenged, while a madman is on a rampage, it is best to sit in place waiting for the police or just wait to be blown away.

Half this country have gone sissy. Pathetic and the same bastages who are scared to death of guns are perfectly fine with having their wives and daughters felt up at the airport. On accounta we have to _imagine_ we are 100% safe at all times. We’d have never made it west of the Mississippi if our forefathers had the same attitude. It’s no wonder so many have fallen from their shoulders and into the gutter.

You’ve probably seen the above. . . a 71 year old guy perforated two punks trying to rob folks at a busy Florida internet cafe. It is not a miracle that only the bad guys got shot. Watch the gent in action. He’s not ripping off indiscriminate shots from 50 feet. He got in close and fired accurately and aggressively until the threat was gone.

I haven’t heard much about the internet cafe hero from the lamestream. We don’t know how it would have turned out if the armed citizen would not have been there. Since he was, it turned out well. In Colorado, there was no armed citizen to intervene and it ended horribly.

  1. You’re right, TG.  I was appalled but not surprised to hear about Obama showing up in Colorado, not one of the 12 is even buried yet, and others are still clinging to life in the hospital.  Energy, time and resources had to be diverted to make way for a presidential visit, IMO, very inappropriate timing.  But it isn’t about others, it is about Obama and he got a photo op out of it.

I lived for over 10 years in Colorado, before it became this bastion of liberalism, sad, because the people struck me as being hardy, independent souls.  It was still very much a state of the old west when I was there, but a great loss now.

This liberalism really seems like some kind of mental disease – is there something in the water?  Or, it caused by the psychotrophic drugs pushed on society to keep people from feeling anything, or the ritalin they’ve saturated the children with, I don’t know, but you’re right, half the nation has become “sissified.”  Yes, they do expect people to sit and take it and not defend themselves, it’s what the nanny state education system teaches in school – no more school yard fights, no more dodge ball or “dangerous” playground equipment.

I had heard the story (not from the MSM) about the 71 year old man in Florida, hadn’t seen the clip until now.  Good for him.

Strange thing, the elitists who spout the anti-gun stuff are all people in a protected venue by their public figure or celebrity status, so either we’re paying or they hire their own bodyguard protection, but they’re protected, the regular folks aren’t.

    • It is maddening to see these Colorado liberals and Obama rush for publicity in this  moment of great sadness.  Why so many people want to be at a gathering to listen to opportunists exploit them is beyond me.  If they are seeking some sort of peace or understanding, they’d be better off on their knees.  Sadly, I fear many of them just want to be part of the circus.

Liberalism is no disease.  It is the religion of slackers and those will never grow up.

Do you find it at all ironic that all this carnage took place at a “cartoon” movie?  Why do so many “adults” go to see a cartoon?

  2. Right on, TG, and commenters here.  In addition, the pols on our side of the aisle who take to the airwaves and proclaim themselves RKBA champions to pander to us often allow the debate to dissolve into meaningless, ill-informed gibberish about ‘high capacity magazines’, ‘semi-automatic assault rifles’ and ‘machine guns’ without themselves knowing what they’re talking about, or able to coherently refute the leftwingnuts.

  3. TG,  I too have seen/read those idiotic comments about the damage that all the “cross-fire” would cause, and something about “the entire theater standing up and shooting guns” etc.  I think those liberal commenters are imagining what would happen if a room full of liberals with guns would do.  They don’t understand the people that believe in concealed carry (i.e. the respect of guns, and public safety).
