Obamacare Stands: You’ve Been Taxed

Well, well, the mandate is really a tax. At least it is in Mr. Roberts’ neighborhood. Thanks a lot, Justice Roberts for finding a way to approve of Obama and Pelosi’s monstrosity of a bill. Nancy was right. Now we know what is in it. It is the biggest tax increase in human history that had to be sold with lies. . . . especially Obama’s whopper.

The Supreme Court upheld the health care reform law on Thursday in a ruling in which conservative Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the liberal wing and spelled out ways to keep the highly controversial law within the bounds of the Constitution. The ruling vindicates President Obama’s signature domestic policy initiative, even if it doesn’t stop the political debate over the sweeping Affordable Care Act.

The 5-4 ruling lets stand the mandate – the requirement that just about everyone carry health insurance or pay a fine. But the ruling calls the fine a tax, allowing the law to escape arguments that it violates the Commerce Clause of the Constitution. —National Journal

Oh, and about the spiking thing our imperial president mentioned. Not everybody got the message, specifically the Executive Director at the DNC. This is how he talks to we peasants:

Patriots, there is only one way now. The Democrat party must be destroyed in November.

  1. So in John Roberts’ constitution, Uncle Sugar can require me to purchase a product from a private company and “tax” me if I fail to comply. I see a Chevy Volt in my future if Obambi is re-elected.

And truly, the discouraging part of this is that even if Mitt Romney gets OCare overturned, the precedent stands that the gov’t has now absconded with far more power than the founders ever gave them.

    •  And I’ll just note that I think it’s shameful that it never even crossed any of our minds that the liberal justices would uphold the Constitution.  We all knew that we only had a possibility of five votes who would stand for the law.
