Speaking before the Denton County GOP Thursday night, Ted Cruz promised when he is elected as the Senator to replace Kay Bailey Hutchison “Texas will Lead the way.” Casting his main primary opponent, Lt. Governor David Dewhurst, as an establishment insider, Cruz said that his grass roots campaign would overcome the $2 million per week spent by and for Dewhurst. Cruz said grass roots conservatives were not looking for a moderate like Dewhurst.
Dewhurst currently leads in the polls as Cruz splits the conservative vote with Craig James, Tom Leppert and several others. The latest numbers show Cruz rising as he gains name recognition.
Cruz, the former Solicitor General of Texas has been helped by Senator Jim DeMint and the Club for Growth. Just days ago, he received a big boost when Sarah Palin endorsed him. Cruz said he received 4000 individual donations within 48 hours of the Palin endorsement. Cruz pointed out that Palin endorsements helped Richard Mourdock beat 36 year Indiana incumbent, Richard Lugar and aided Debra Fischer in her dramatic come from behind primary win in the Nebraska senate race.
Texas has a conservative super-majority in the House and strong control of the Senate (19-12). Texans deserve a constitutional conservative like Ted Cruz. Listen to Ted:
Texans, here is your chance to send a message to the current timid GOP leadership. Send Ted Cruz to the Senate to help Jim DeMint, Marco Rubio, Ron Johnson, Mike Lee and Rand Paul. It might give Leader Mitch McConnell a panic attack. Now wouldn’t that be delicious?
