Ecce, Homo!… Ecce Impostor!

Ecce Homo!

“Behold, the Man,” (Pontius Pilate, just before he handed Christ over to the mob.–John 19:5)

Ecce Impostor!

Barack Obama’s father was a communist. Barack Obama’s mother was a communist. But Barack Obama proudly claims to be an America-loving constitutional democrat (with a little “d’).

You might ask: What person or events intervened in Barack Obama’s life to move him away from the path of communism his parents set him upon from his earliest years? It should be one of the most wondrous tales of our times, to be told and retold right up there next to George Washington (Ecce, homo!) and the cherry tree or Abe Lincoln (Ecce, homo!) reading by the light of the fireplace. Similar transfigurations have occurred in our own time as well, witness David Horowitz (Ecce, homo!), the son of socialists. And what American doesn’t know the wonderful path he trekked to find the light?

Such a miraculous metamorphosis for Barack Obama would make a powerful, and uplifting story.  A movie even!

But it never happened. It couldn’t have, for if it had, Barack would have told it. Rather, it’s a story Barack Obama cannot tell.

Still, it’s a law, one does not change his stripes without some intervening event or person that reverses his course, and washes away all the dark things he now says he stands against. That event or wise person cannot be found.

Barack Obama boldly rejects the names, “communist” and “socialist,” and eagerly dons the dress of a democrat (with a little “d”) adopting the extravagance of a capitalist, but his words are all of the old stripe. He doesn’t believe in America, the ideal, any more than his mother did. The America he does believe in is a corporate document, no more, no less, and one that is seriously flawed… and in dire need of revision.

Ecce Impostor!

Barack Obama’s father was a Muslim. Barack Obama’s mother was an atheist. But Barack Obama claims to be a Christian.

You might ask: What person or events intervened in Barack Obama’s life to move him away from the Islam of his youth and the atheism of his mother’s breast? It should be one of the most wondrous tales of our times, to be right up there with C S Lewis’ (Ecce, homo!) or Whitaker Chamber’s (Ecce, homo!) conversion.

To be found, to be rescued, to be saved, is a story no Christian tires of hearing, or retelling,

What a magnificent metamorphosis for Barack Obama, the son of Islam and perdition, to then find Christ. It would make a miraculous story. A movie, even.

But it’s a story Barack Obama cannot tell. Because it never happened. It couldn’t have, for if it had, Barack would have told it.

You see, there is a big difference between being a Christian and merely adhering to Christian principles. The whole world pretends Christian and American principles even as they cry out against both. These people have always been with us. Mark Twain said there are “professing” Christians and “professional” Christians, accusing his father-in-law of the latter. We all know the type.

The “Christian” is defined by one thing, and one thing only, best summed up in the Apostle’s Creed. To be Christian is to believe Jesus is the Son of God, was crucified, then arose, and sits on the right hand of God.

This is no small thing, for many people who are not Christian still believe Jesus was a Good Man, or a Great Teacher and Prophet. Even Barack Obama’s father’s faith believed this much, and I am sure it is on these grounds his mother was able to find accommodation, for most atheists believe Christ was a myth.

Like America, Christianity is a belief in which you must truly believe in only a few deeply serious things, in order to be one. But these are the things that distinguish you from the imposters.

You cannot be either and still believe they are myths.

Ecce Impostor!

I can find no trail to evidence that shows me, or anyone else, that Barack Obama is either a Christian or an American.

Love your simple logic. Questions that should have been asked and answered. It’s the “greatest” story never told…and obviously one that can’t be.

Since no “reporters” in the entire United States could be bothered to find out, or to tell the rest of us if they had found out, we had to learn from a former student of Obama’s that, contrary to widespread belief, Obama did NOT teach constitutional law, in any comprehensive sense, at the University of Chicago – he taught the 14th Amendment.

Vassar –

This is precisely the sort of post that tells me I still have a long way to go to be a good writer.

This is magnificent. Simple. Easy to understand. Not hard to poke holes in if possible. But it’s not …

Thanks for writing this.

There is more Christianity and Humanity in a raggedy scarecrow watching over a field, than in this creature occupying space in the oval office.

Very good post. Before Obama’s election, I read an interview he had with a writer in an IL newspaper when he was running for the state senate seat. There were a couple of things he said that were glaringly not spoken by a Christian. One of them was the question (paraphrasing both question and answer, but you’ll get the gist of them): What is sin? Obama’s answer: Failing to live up to my standards. Yes, that’s right. It’s in the Bible right there in I Hedonists 5:12. Sin is the failure to live up to Barack Obama’s standards of holiness.… Read more »

Really?

So you mean, in all of his autobiographies (2,3, I’ve lost count, and it’s possible he even wrote part of one of them), he never could find a sliver of space, between endless tales of “and this is when I discovered, again, that I was pure awesome”, to mention a Road-To-Damascus experience?
.
Pshaw, there’s no way! Surely he has found fit, at least once in his life, to admit to something more awesome than himself.
.
Surely.
.
Right?
