Obama’s GSA Rolls Craps on Taxpayers

You know government workers are often out of touch with reality, but do they really believe what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? After all, it is only an advertisement to get people to come to Las Vegas and act like fools pretending there are no consequences at all. In real life there are consequences. You can lose your job, as Martha Johnson, Obama’s pick to head the GSA, has discovered.

You just can’t get caught mocking the American taxpayer by partying like pill popping rappers in Vegas, which isn’t exactly Obama’s favorite city. Why not? Because you can’t embarass Obama like this:

In a comic video that won a top award at the General Services Administration’s lavish conference off the Las Vegas strip, an employee jokes that he’s living high on the hog and will “never be under investigation” by the agency’s inspector general.

The employee made the video as an entry in a talent contest among the four regional offices represented at the $823,000, four-day conference in October 2010. It was shown to 300 GSA employees during the closing dinner.

GSA spokesman Adam Elkington on Thursday called the video “another example of the complete lack of judgement exhibited during Western Regions conference.”

“Our agency continues to be appalled by this indefensible behavior, and we are taking every step possible to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again.” —Washington Post

Wow, some GSA slacker got an award for making his mocking, high-rolling video. If that doesn’t make you want to spit nails, you must be a drunken sailor. The joke is on us, the American people who are under the thumb of an administration that is spending like there is no tomorrow.

You’ll die laughing at this:

In congratulating the winner at the conference, Deputy Commissioner of the Public Building Service David Foley presents an award and jokes about the previous night’s lavish “party that was held in the commissioner’s suite,” having to respond to congressional oversight, and Obama Administration efforts to restrict executive pay. — Fox News

Obama has proven to be a prolific liar. He lies without even a hint of remorse. Now we see his GSA, the agency that is supposed to develop government-wide cost-minimizing policies, wasting over $800,000 on a lavish party in Sin City, no less, and making a big joke out of it . . . without even a hint of remorse. You’ve heard it said a fish rots from the head. It does, and this episode shows Obama is mighty pale around the gills.

I wager you remember back in 2008 when Obama said he would go through the budget, line by line. Hell’s bells, the man has been running the government for over 3 years without a budget.

  1. The famous Janet Reno line from the Waco hearings comes to mind, Tex. It isn’t the people who are wrong here, but the process. The process will be fixed, the people merely counseled and reeducated.

    No one will be fired.

    • Yeah, they will fix the process by adding more of he same. The re-education that is in process has worked very nicely for Obama. The American people now yawn when they hear the word trillion.

A twenty trillion dollar debt? Is that bad? 🙁

  2. Yellowstone National Park comes to mind for some reason.

After years of bad forestry management in the name of preserving the land, in 1988 the Park BURNED.

Stands to reason that one of the first items on the next President’s fiscal restructuring plan would a be a burning out of the diseased overgrowth in all departments.

After he makes sure there aren’t any saboteurs left behind and all systems gone through for trojans, bugs and other assorted ease droppers.

    • You are dead-on about cleaning house and there is also no reason to have a pretense of bi-partisanship by hiring some Donk to run a federal agency. Better we should shutter a few, starting with Energy and Education. . . but what are the odds, 1 in a trillion?
