To: Clint Eastwood, Chrysler, et al.; Subj: There is NO coming together, not this time

You may have caught this commercial from Chrysler (Obama) Corp. during the Super Bowl halftime segment regarding America also presumably being at the halfway point in The Obama Reign.

The script called for Eastwood to speak of Detroit’s “comeback” and how it was done by “everybody coming together” and how they “acted as one” (no mention of the bailouts most conservatives were against) to help Detroit “come from behind,” to…pay America back for the money Chrysler got from us? Or something.

Well, Rush had a good take on this today (as he usually does), and what struck me as well as Rush was the “coming together” stuff. I suppose by “coming together” we conservatives need to give up our core beliefs and succumb to those of Obama and his leftist cohorts (and those in the GOP who live by caving to to those same Democrats) and just spend, spend, spend our way back to greatness, trashing that “outdated” Constitution along the way, and robbing anyone they deem a success to pay for it all. Naturally.

Well, not this time.

Rush’s take;

All this talk of “working together”? You know, that’s always what people say when the Democrats are about to get shellacked. When the Democrats are about to get creamed, when the Democrats are on the ropes, “Time-out! Time-out, time-out! We gotta stop the criticism. We gotta stop all the partisanship. Time-out, time-out! We gotta all start working together.” Of course that means, “Republicans need to shut up. Conservatives need to shut up. Stop being critical! We gotta all come together now.

“We can’t change horses here in the middle of the stream. Obama’s policies are finally starting to work. It doesn’t matter who gets screwed, doesn’t matter who got screwed.” The only thing missing was (impression), “Go ahead, make my halftime.” (laughing) I just think this is so predictable and so typical. “Got to come together.”

Well, Rush also had other ideas on how the Clint Eastwood commercial should have been scripted and made (h/t The RightScoop);

RightScoop has the full 13 minute Rush segment here, give it a listen if you missed Rush today.

Now, as to this “coming together.” If liberal Democrats really want to come together to save this country, my suggestion is they wake the hell up and take their party back from the leftist socialist/communists who’ve commandeered it over the past several decades. They need to face reality before it’s too late. They’re out there somewhere, even in Congress, I imagine. The problem is they’re too scared, too gutless to take a stand against the party machine that threatens to destroy all who don’t march exactly in lock-step with the rest. Or they could even just make a clean break from that party – Lieberman wasn’t executed for doing so, and I imagine we’re still at least a couple years away from reaching that point with Democrats.

I’ve heard some people say they didn’t think the Chrysler commercial was “political” or Obama supporting. When it came on, I had been listening more than watching the game; had to stop what I was doing and see for myself that this was actually Clint Eastward letting this socialist garbage dribble from his mouth. Those phrases and words are used all the time by the Leftist Dems; in fact, it is codespeak for trying to tell our side and the uninformed that we’re not playing nice. Rush’s version is much better and does credit to the Clint Eastwood that I… Read more »

This could be a tough call, as far as Clint personally is concerned. On the one hand, he is not a clueless, young rising star just making a buck. He has been around a long time, as an actor, director and producer so he knows the people in the business, and he was Republican Mayor of Carmel. So one would expect him to be sensitive to propaganda. On the other hand we can’t even get John Boehner to “Just say NO.” Some people just accept the message (America rebounding – Go Team!) at face value and when the chaff gets… Read more »
