……IN THE SAME WAY THAT DEBBIE WASSERMAN-SCHULZ LOVES GABRIELLE GIFFORDS.
That is to say, the late Dr. King was nothing more than a prop for Valerie Jarrett over the weekend, and the Ebenezer Baptist Church’s sacredness to the Lord and to the civil rights movement to her were as inconsequential as the dilapidated, rundown buildings in Chicago she is the slumlord over. Her mission is to incite hatred of Republicans, just as Wasserman -Schulz’s is to portray Tea Partiers as racist terrorists by hysterically equating petitioning the government and free speech with an atmosphere of violence.
And there are others. The head of the Indiana AFL-CIO used the MLK holiday to opine that there could be no more fitting tribute to the legacy of Dr. King than for people in Indiana to be forced to pay union dues, whether they want to or not.
In another display of the willful suspension of disbelief, the nationally-syndicated and perpetually rabid Leonard Pitts, Jr. opined that Martin would have had tears of joy in his eyes and his Dream would have finally been realized if only the cell doors of crack cocaine dealers swung open and they were allowed to walk proud and free once more among us.
It is at once a shame and an outrage that these Socialist Democrats feel no compunction about using the misfortunes, or even the heroic attributes, of others, current or historical, for personal or special interest gain. The one common thread among the people spotlighted here today , besides their being leftist Democrats, is that their motivation is lust for power and influence and control over the fortunes, but also the opinions and the empathies, of the compassionate and the desperate public.
We here realize that there is being waged a war between political and economic systems, that it is indeed a titanic struggle. But to reduce it to “capitalism uber alles” allows all sorts of things, doesn’t it?
To cut to the chase, is it wrong, at this precise moment, the day after the Martin Luther King holiday, to accuse Valerie Jarrett, a Black Woman, of hijacking the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr ? And would it be equally wrong, or perhaps more wrong, or would it be less wrong to point out Jarrett’s manipulation of the capitalist system in Chicago, no matter how much she pushes the Social Justice Democrat themes in Washington, DC?
This struggle is about freedom, but it is not about the freedom of crack cocaine dealers or union thugs or Chicago slumlords. And it is not about the freedom of crony socialists or even crony capitalists. Those boys, and girls, have always been able to take care of themselves, whether they called themselves Republicans or Democrats. The difference between statist Democrats and free-market Republicans is the former want to give the folks scraps off the table, and to use the buzz words and the props to….maintain the lifestyle to which they have become accustomed. While freedom-loving Republicans want to give everybody the oportunity to enjoy a good steak, and to be judged by the content of their character.
