So Let This Holiday Season Be for Us a Time of Rededication

Ronald Reagan at Christmas, 30 years ago:

Our country is a living, growing thing, planted in rich American soil. Only our devoted care can bring it to full flower. So let this holiday season be for us a time of rededication. Christmas means so much because of one special child. But Christmas also reminds us that all children are special, that they are gifts from God, gifts beyond price that mean more than any presents money can buy. In their love and laughter, in their hopes for the future, lies the true meaning of Christmas.

H/T Pat Dollard:

Oh how sweet is the sound of a real and honorable American president. God bless us one and all. May He instill within us the courage and dedication to restore this country.

      • I too believe that next Christmas will be one of the best in my lifetime, I trust the American people to do the right thing, perhaps that is naive of me but I would like to believe they have a sense of self preservation about themselves that recognizes that this Administration is not an American one!

  1. Merry Christmas to all UP members. I have enjoyed reading this site for the last 9 months. I have made it my new year resolution to become a little more active, and less of a lurker. I hope you all enjoy a wonderful Christmas season with your family and friends. God bless each and every one of you.

  2. Curious that you should title your post this way, as that other mid-winter holiday, Hanukkah, is called the Feast of Rededication, following as it did upon generations of oppression and desecration before people rose up to take back their nation. And the subsequent history of the Jewish nation also reminds us that freedom can never be taken for granted, but each generation must secure the blessings of freedom for itself as the enemies of freedom are continually on the prowl, probing for weakness. Complacency has lead many nations to destruction, and we are in serious danger of being next in line.

Yes, a little Child will have to lead us because the adults aren’t doing a good job right now.

    Merry Christmas to all.
