If the U.S. economy was growing at the rate of federal government jobs and pay, the country would be in one heck of a boom. That’s what we have around D.C. and throughout the federal bureaucracy, boom times. There’s plenty of new government jobs and the pay rate for the federal jobs is far greater than private sector jobs. The country can’t afford this. It’s terrible from a financial standpoint and all these federal employees tend to vote for what? . . . more of the same, of course. Yes, they are their own special interest group.
What exactly do all these federal employees do? They drain our Treasury and create rules and process that kill much of the private sector. Much of what our federal government does, would be best done on a more local level or not done at all.
The giant federal Kraken hurts the little companies and the start ups the worst, essentially raising the barrier to enter or maintain a business beyond their means. Meanwhile the big companies that have the infrastructure, cash and crony connections to deal with the government crappola grow bigger and bigger until yes, many become too big to fail.
Check out this excellent video from Government Gone Wild.
Good heavens, the numbers in that video are shocking. The congresscritters responsible for this growth of government are a menace. They are dangerous to the taxpayers wallet and personal freedoms whenever Congress is in session. Somebody should put a plan together to cut their time in Washington and their pay … cut it drastically. Oh, wait.
