Getting “Fast and Furious” Back on Track

Like an out of control stagecoach in an old western movie “Fast and Furious” thunders on across the plains. Horses flecked with froth, eyes rolling, the reins dangling, waiting for someone to grasp them firmly and steer things back on course. Representative Issa and the House Oversight Committee have been steering the scandal towards Attorney General Eric Holder. Then another passenger on the out of control coach dove for the reins.

Enter Senatress Diane Feinstein:

h/t Daily Caller
Democratic California Sen. Dianne Feinstein told a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing that lax gun control laws, not Obama administration malfeasance within the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATF), was the real problem uncovered by Operation Fast and Furious.
“My concern, Mr. Chairman, is there’s been a lot said about Fast and Furious, and perhaps mistakes were made, but I think this hunt for blame doesn’t really speak about the problem,” Feinstein said during the Tuesday hearing. “And the problem is, anybody can walk in and buy anything, .50-caliber weapons, sniper weapons, buy them in large amounts, and send them down to Mexico. So, the question really becomes, what do we do about this?”
“I’ve been here 18 years,” Feinstein continued. “I’ve watched the BATF get beaten up at every turn on the road. And, candidly, it’s just not right.”
After the hearing, Feinstein’s staff refused to answer when The Daily Caller asked how gun control laws would have prevented the abuses in Operation Fast and Furious when the law enforcement agents responsible for upholding gun laws were the individuals giving the weapons to drug cartels.

Well, obviously what is called for here is more laws restricting honest citizens from purchasing or owning guns, after all it was those same honest citizens who were abusing their authority, demanding gun dealers sell to known criminals and shipping the weapons to drug cartels.

The courageous Senatress Feinstein isn’t alone, Democrats are leaping onto the backs of the charging horses grappling for the reins in droves. Like MSDNC and the Huffing-and-Puffington Post’s Alex Wagner

Bill Maher, HBO: “Let’s ask Alex. What would you change in the Constitution?”

Alex Wagner, Huffington Post: “Well, I’m going to be pilloried for this. I think get rid of the second Amendment, the right to bear arms. I just think in the grand scheme of the rights that we have; the right of assembly, free speech, I mean, owning a gun does not, it does not tally on the same level as those other Constitutional rights. And being more discreet about who gets to have a firearm and right to kill with a firearm, I think is something that would be in our national interest to revisit that.”

Now that you mention it Alex, I remember my High School American History Class studying about General Washington and the newly formed Continental Army marching off to #Occupy Boston in 1775. It wasn’t guns that Americans held when they stood against the Redcoats, it was signs. Freedom of Speech guarantees the other portions of the Bill of Rights, you know, like the American People’s railing against Obamacare. Stopped that measure of tyranny dead in its tracks right?

Then the White House Insider chimed in…

Insider: … And I want to encourage you again to look at the gun control angle in all of this. It’s bigger than Fast and Furious. Imagine if Americans were made to know – to understand, how lives were spent in a purely political attempt to enhance federal gun control laws. And I think immigration is tied into it all as well. I’m not doing this…I’m not laying it out as well as I need to for you and I’m sorry for that. The scope of this plan requires a person to almost suspend reality – fu—ing reality for a moment. We had the feds placing deadly weapons into the hands of dangerous criminals. That’s the reality as we know it now. Those are the facts, right?
Ulsterman: Yes.
Insider: Ok – so those guns are given to these criminals who then turn around and use them to kill Americans, to kill Mexicans, to cause all kinds of chaos, right? The shops used to sell those guns – the government forced them to sell those guns, right?
Ulsterman: Right.
Insider: Yeah – the government basically put a gun to those gun sellers’ head and told them to allow those criminals to purchase those weapons. Then they turn around and are prosecuting those gun sellers, while at the same time you got Democrats…some of the most extreme of Democrats – they are calling for gun control. It’s the part about nobody in the administration trying to track those guns that were given to the criminals…that’s the key for me in this. They didn’t care about those guns, right? It seems pretty damn obvious they could care less where those guns were going…who had them, whatever. So what was the purpose of Fast and Furious if it wasn’t to track those guns back to the criminals and arrest them? What the f-ck were they up to? You ask yourself that?
Ulsterman: Yeah – and there still doesn’t seem to be an answer.
Insider: Bullsh-t there isn’t an answer – it’s just that the answer is the most frightening one, so not enough people are willing to look at it. If the Obama administration wasn’t really concerned about the actual guns – they lost over a thousand or so, right? Can’t find them. No idea where they went. So those guns weren’t the concern. It was the crime they wanted to trace back to those guns that were sold in the United States. It was the crimes they wanted to happen – they fu—ing encouraged to happen – that was the purpose of all of this. Turn around and use those crimes to push through much tougher federal gun controls, and push through some kind of amnesty immigration policy. WE killed 200 Mexicans – that message…guilt voters into amnesty, right? And I’m not opposed to some immigration policy – it’s needed, and long overdue. But for God’s sake – I’m not for killing people to get there. This White House was willing to do that. This White House, the Obama administration – they were willing to kill Mexicans. But they made a mistake…the killing of the border agents – they didn’t prepare to have those killings linked to the weapons. Or if they did, they didn’t realize it would backfire against them like it did.

Watch for it, there’s more coming. Democrat after Democrat will jump on the band wagon, or the run-away stage if you want to stick to my original analogy. Echoing talking points, urging more laws levied against law abiding citizens when it wasn’t law abiding citizens who committed the crimes.

Who do you trust? Dianne Feinstein? Eric Holder? B. Hussein Obama?

The militia of these free commonwealths, entitled and accustomed to their arms, when compared with any possible army, must be tremendous and irresistible. Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birth-right of an American … the unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people.

Thank you Mr. Coxe, “In the hands of the people,” I can trust that.

This is crunch time for the Republicans. There was much ballyhoo about how they held the line against the stimulus and Obamacare – important issues, to be sure. But this is the ultimate test of life and liberty. How many R’s will reach across the aisle on this one?

I think this is political grandstanding, Nessa, unless they’re setting Obama up for another executive order. The House investigation, not the Senate, will bear fruit. We know the mood of the Dem’s re the 2nd Amendment, but they also know ours, and that “when you can pull it away from my dead cold fingers.” I’m quite certain no amount of political pressure will force Holder to resign. The message must be made clear, especially to underlings who’re providing Holder et al cover, as a criminal investigation this will go forward under the next president. If Ms Feinstein wants to provide… Read more »

Why are we talking about this? Rick Perry forgot the name of the third department he wanted to cut. *That* is the news according to Journolist.

True colors. The part that the Dems don’t understand — and being stupid is an important part of being a Democrat — is that a very large portion of Americans are onto them and their con games. Lots of cons can be played on gullible people. The Dems have built their entire binding philosophy on the fact that Americans will buy what the press feeds them. That time is gone, and possibly gone for a couple of generations. You can play cons on the savvy and the careful also, but it’s a whole different kind of play. The Dems aren’t… Read more »
