Epic Fail

It was an exclamation point.  The failure of the government’s test of the Emergency Activation System, or Emergency Activation Notification, or Nature-or- Man-Caused Disaster Alert, whatever the latest iteration is from Barack and Janet and the whole gang, is the poster child for  this administration’s magnificent non-achievements since taking power nearly three years ago.

Everything Barack Obama and his Socialist-Progressive cronies, in or out of government, have touched since their ascendancy has turned to crap.  Nothing has worked, whether in the financial or economic sphere, in job creation, in meeting the energy needs of the country, in foreign policy, in securing our borders, or in any aspect of preserving, protecting and defending the Constitution and the people of the United States of America.

The term ‘malaise’, which was used to describe the mood of the country during the disaster that was the Jimmy Carter regime, is insufficient to describe the atmosphere today.  It has become a desperation, in some quarters quiet and in some quarters angry, and in others, just an abject disconsolate resignation.  The “Hope” part of the “Hope and Change” credo President Obama ran on has vanished, entirely.  There is only the continued change away from normal, rational, effective and proven approaches to problems and to the relationship between government and the public, and the change is increasingly ever so counterproductive.

Add to the domestic woes the increasing concern about foreign policy failures, up to and including the continued and growing concern about a terrorist nation, Iran, nearly ready to perfect the development of weapons of mass destruction, and you have a public more and more filled with foreboding about not just financial and economic security, but personal and public security for the citizens from harm by the forces of evil. His ham-handed or downright disrespectful treatment of our traditional friends and allies overseas have made him and his diplomatic corps an utter embarassment.   Obama has not only let the folks down in the “comfortableness and well-being” sphere, he has added to their despair by responding, or not responding, to the adventures of terrorist cults and rogue states in ways that invite chaos, disruption and possible attack.  It is not good.  And now he cannot even conduct a successful test of the Emergency Broadcast System.

At home and abroad, Obama has failed.  Our great conservative friend, Rush Limbaugh, expressed hope early in the Obama administration that the man would fail, meaning, as he had to patiently explain to the unimaginative critics on the left,  that he was talking about Obama’s plans, his proposals and directives for the propagation of Socialist policies Limbaugh knew would not serve the Nation.  But Rush of course expected that once the policies and initiatives of the administration began to sputter and fizzle and lead to ever-diminishing returns, the public, and saner heads on both sides of the aisle, would demand a change of course, and Obama would have no choice but to accede.  Limbaugh could not possibly have foreseen that Obama would double down on his ideological bent and leave the nation completely bereft of the “Hope” he had promised to fulfill.  The nation is now in  shock, denial or despair.

Word on the street is that if Organizing for Obama is successful and he somehow manages to finagle 270 electoral votes a year from now, the motto of Lady Liberty in New York Harbor will be changed from “I lift my lamp beside the golden door”  to “Abandon hope, all ye who enter here”.

This need not happen.  Patriots, redouble your efforts.

  1. FAIL:
Wasn’t this ‘test’ supposed to run for 3 plus minutes to verify effectiveness? It ran about 20 seconds on the radio station I was tuned into.
And again we must ask: Why is this needed? On 9/11/2001 we experienced the worst disaster on American soil in history and it was NOT needed then.

    • Nor was it needed during the Cuban Missile Crisis or any other Doomsday scenario during the Cold War. It was not needed during Katrina- Haley Barbour handled the situation well; the problem was the Democrats in Louisiana.
Like so many Obama initiatives, success or failure is not the point; it is conditioning the public to accept the premise. Now people will be demanding that they be allowed to receive instructions from Obama on their cellphones, and of course funding will have to be obtained for this vital program.

  2. Yea, I was at my daughter’s house when this was supposed to occur, we had the TV on (cable) and it never happened. I had forgotten about this until last night when everyone was making fun of this #epic fail. We may not need it, but the point being, if these buffoons can’t even get this right, think what *won’t happen* in a real emergency. I vote for twitter being the best source.
