Palin For The Win: “God, family and country…my decision maintains this order”

Sarah Palin has announced that she will not seek the office of President of the United States in 2012. As a rabid, far-right-wing kook fringe lunatic, this news couldn’t make me happier:

“I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.”

Love her or hate her, Palin is a figure to be reckoned with; Republicans and Democrats alike understand that her following makes her a person to be recognized and taken into account…she’s got 10’s of millions of really pee oh’ed Americans at her back, and she ain’t goin’ away anytime soon.

For me, personally, this is the happiest day of my punditry life; as a private citizen this woman can do a helluva lot more damage to that good ol’ boy’s network that made a mess of this country than she could EVER do sitting atop the steaming pile.

I love this woman more than ever tonight, and I can’t wait to see her stick a shiv in the short ribs of our political heroes on BOTH sides of the aisle… she’s gonna make them remember whose fault it is that this country has gone to hell in a handbasket…and I’m warmin’ up the popcorn: 2012 just got a whole lot more fun.

Knowing how fond you are of Sarah, it is fitting you write about her decision in just this way. Sarah made an excellent decision, and it is clear that she has focused her priorities the right way.

I can’t wait to see Sarah unleashed, because now that she doesn’t have the shadow of “should I stay or should I go” hanging over her, she can and I believe, will let loose.

‘Stack, I published one about Sarah, but I was not trying to steal any thunder from you. I guess Lady P is good with having us both write one about Sarah. Mine has the news story, and yours has the heart story. It’s all good.

Well, make mine three 🙂

Absolutely dead on in your assessment here, ‘stack. What I love about Sarah the most is that she will keep *both* sides on their toes. She can play that role much better and more effectively staying where she is versus climbing atop the ‘steaming pile’, as you so aptly put it.

Very nice, haystack. I am disappointed that she won’t be President (at least not in ’13), but must acknowledge that she faced some serious hurdles had she gotten in.

I agree with virtually everything else in your post. (This is my first comment here and let me say that I am soooo glad to join a site where Palin’s contributions are appreciated and folks can differ over her in a respectful manner.)

Now the hard part, to decide who my next favorite candidate is!

I think she was correct in this decision and I look forward to her support for HERMAN CAIN!!!! 🙂
