The United States Marine Corps: Masters of the Universe

I don’t have sufficient language skills to convey my awe when it comes to our armed forces. They are magnificent beyond compare.

Check out this just video released of its first vertical landing on the deck of the USS Wasp, conducted Monday:

The Blaze brings you the F-35B fifth generation stealth fighter. It’s the only short-takeoff, vertical landing (STOVL) variant of the aerial platforms developed in the Joint Strike Fighter program. And it looks pretty incredible.

Stealth planes are generally known for their ability to evade radar, engage other craft first, and unleash munitions deep behind enemy lines, but the F-35B adds an advanced close air support element (CAS) to the Marine Corps’ arsenal.

The F-35B would give Marine expeditionary forces a complete air superiority tool whenever a beachhead is established. It could take-off and land from the smaller amphibious vessels used by the Marine Corps, as well as from makeshift or unfinished airfields.

Dear Bessie. Y’all make my heart beat.

I was born in Saginaw, Michigan, and I grew up in a house on Saginaw Bay. My daddy was a poor, hardworking Saginaw fisherman. Too many times he came home with too little pay. Naw, not really, but it sounds more interesting than the real bio, so there you are.

  1. Absolutely amazing!

If the Marines establish a beachhead it is “forced entry.” Meaning both that the owners of the beach don’t want us there and that the Marines were forced to establish one, there was no other alternative. They’re there all alone. Much like my beloved 82nd Airplane Gang and an ‘airfield seizure.” Its just you and the bad guys until we can move enough support in to keep our boys safe. You start out with a few hundred troops armed with M4 carbines, M240B’s, maybe a Ma Deuce or two, a couple 105mm artillery pieces and a precious few attack helicopters. Versus everything and everyone the owner of the beach has in his arsenal and can drive, carry or fly to the beach.

The Democrats think the Marines don’t need the F35, its too expensive. It is, until they have to establish a beachhead.
