Michele Obama: Saving President FUBAR

The adoring crowds are gone. Mr. Hope and Change turned out to be a dope, deranged. Barak Obama can’t deliver on jobs and he can’t deliver his lines. His poll numbers would depress the most optimistic politician. Obama is “used up.“.

Who can save Obama? Who can energize lifeless Democrats? Enter the First Lady, Michele Obama:

The first lady always ends her speeches to Democratic donors with two questions: “Are you in? Are you fired up?”

It’s a call to arms that the Obama campaign needs more than ever this election, when the combination of a weak economy and dampened enthusiasm for the president are creating a tougher climate for raising money.

Since mid-May, the first lady has headlined more than a dozen fundraisers for her husband and the Democratic Party, at sites from Burlington, Vt., to Berkeley, Calif. She’s cramming in three more events in Maine and Rhode Island within six hours on Friday, the last day of a closely watched reporting period for quarterly campaign fundraising. She’s also blasted out a number of mass emails to party faithful trying to recapture the energy that has waned since her husband’s 2008 campaign.

“He needs you to work like you’ve never worked before,” Mrs. Obama tells audience after audience. “Every day. And that’s what I plan on doing.” –Nancy Benac for Associated Press

Uh huh, Mrs. Obama is going to turn the tide for her husband? She’s the secret weapon? The Happy Meal thief? Really?

It wuld be interesting to hear from a presidential campaign historian on whether there has ever been a precedent for this – this all-out campaigning by a sitting President and the First Lady this early in the cycle, especially when there is no real clear frontrunner on the other side and the opposition candidates seem bent on destroying each other.

Laura Bush was quite a good fundraiser for W although she did it without the lavishness of MEEchelle. According to this article she raised $15 M for him. I can’t verify that amount however.

He is desperate, that’s for sure. I guess they thought sending out a photo of Michelle shopping Target would make her seem like one of us. I’ve heard they’ve had trouble selling tickets to his dinners. People just aren’t feeling it anymore.

So it begins, the White House wants to move up the SC hearing on Obamacare and this morning they come out swinging against Thomas. Is anybody going to swing back and chunk Kagen up side the head for her efforts for Obamacare?

I read somewhere a comparison between the number of fundraisers thus far in the Presidency as compared against both GWB and Clinton. BO was far in front of both of them. In terms of how successful he will be, a large part of it relies on whether or not the demedia stays in his pocket. Last time he disabled the fraud protection software on his website that prevented people from donating funds using false names – thus enabling wide-spread enormous finance fraud. Due to the campaign’s illegal tampering, Soros would have been able to donate a billion dollars to BO… Read more »
