Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) Pwns President Obama and His Jobs Bill

While the Smartest President Evah was busy (warning: Kos link) playing 3D chess, Democrats ignored his demand to Pass This Bill Now and never did introduce any legislation. That opened the door for House Republican Louie Gohmert to introduce his own bill named the (wait for it!) American Jobs Act. The main difference is that Obama’s Proposal With No Name would eliminate jobs and Gohmert’s bill would create jobs. Other than that, they’re pretty much the same thing. Heh.

via Rob Bluey:

President Obama repeatedly asked members of Congress to pass the American Jobs Act last week. But when no Democrat filed Obama’s bill after he presented it to Congress, a conservative congressman swiped the name for his own legislation.

The American Jobs Act introduced in the House of Representatives looks quite different from the version President Obama outlined in his speech to Congress. Instead of hiking taxes on working Americans to pay for another stimulus, Rep. Louie Gohmert’s (R-TX) legislation offers a tax cut.

I was born in Saginaw, Michigan, and I grew up in a house on Saginaw Bay. My daddy was a poor, hardworking Saginaw fisherman. Too many times he came home with too little pay.

Naw, not really, but it sounds more interesting than the real bio, so there you are.

This has got to be one of the great swipes of all time, Queenie. While the Dem’s diddled, Gohmert fiddled. Let’s see how they handle it.

Gohmert is a smooth operator for a good ole boy from the formerly “yellow dog” piney woods of TX. Reminds me of an early Phil Gramm, before he became an insider.
