City Council Votes to Ban Free Speech In Private Homes

The insanity of this City Council even thinking they could pass such a law shows the length that people in power will go to in an attempt to control your life. It is Arkansas today, could it be your town tomorrow? Enough is enough, lets take back our Country, city by city, state by state and go back to first principles. Democrats No Doubt:

The Mayor of the City of Gould shall not call special meetings to discuss City business without two thirds of the City Council’s vote to do so.

The Mayor nor City Council members shall attend or participate in any meetings with any organization in any location without City Council approval by two thirds [vote].

The Gould Citizens Advisory Council by passage of this ordinance is hereby banned from doing business in the City of Gould.

That the said Council is, in effect, causing confusion and discourse [sic] among the citizens of Gould and as a result is contributing to the friction not only between the Mayor and Council but also among the citizens who deserve a cooperative government.

[N]o new organizations shall be allowed to exist in the City of Gould without approval from a majority of the City Council.

  1. The state attorney general will likely let them know that they can’t violate the State Constitution nor the U.S. Constitution. Sheer ignorance on the part of the council, and the backlash from the local community will be far greater than they anticipated. That’s like telling folks they can’t talk politics in a bar over a beer, or even have the local news on in a public place.
    Ignorance.
That said, the Left/liberals would gladly seek to end our ability to speak out against them. Must be ever vigilant.

They should have a recall election, or demand those characters resign.

  2. EBL, yeah we need to pull out this list. Of course this is patently unconstitutional–but then when I though, how fast will it get shut down? Then I remembered Holder is our AG, nothing ever happened in the voter intimidation situation out of Philadelphia, the reallistic odds this travesty could play out for awhile and suppress the citizens rights, actually are pretty good.

  3. While the left would love doing/supporting this at this point it is a bridge to far and they know it.
So they to will be aghast and maybe amused as the reporterette was.
Just like they did with gay marriage and abortion.
When the time comes they will fall in line and marginalize any who support free speech as either rubes or sinister extremists.

  4. Where was it, Iowa, where the city demanded apartment and business owners give the city keys to their private properties? Here’s the thing, however bad you think it is in San Francisco or New York, how did it ever get so crazy in middle America? (hint: everybody been goin’ to the same school since about 1972).
