Obama and Duncan Poke Kennedy Family in the Eye

In a vicious attempt to sabotage the signature legislation and to destroy the legacy of the late Lion of the Senate, Edward M. Kennedy, the Obama Administration is dismantling the tenets and the precepts of the No Child Left Behind Law enacted during the waning years of the Senator’s life.  As announced today by the New York Times, the administration’s unofficial organ when the regular White House apparatus is busy fending off riots by liberal newsmen and politicos, Arne Duncan says “It’s over.”

It is unclear at this point whether this is the opening salvo in a war between the Radical Social Democrats and the Almost as Radical Social Democrats, as rumors have been flying in recent days about Hillary Clinton foregoing the rocking chair and running in 2012 to salvage whatever credibility the Dems have left after the debacle that has been Obama for America.  Whatever the case, this decision by the O-team was foreshadowed just weeks ago when Obama himself announced that kids, and  members of the National Education Association  or the American Federation of Teachers,  ought to get credit  for the kids just showing up for class, and not relying so much upon an independent analysis of what they got when they showed up.

At the same time, Obama said, schools should be judged on criteria other than
student test performance, including attendance rate.

Attendance rate?   In most states attendance is ………..mandatory.  Order up another truckload of trophies, Arne!

We have never immersed ourselves in the finer points of No Child Left Behind, but we always dismissed it by looking at the title and observing”‘If No Child is Left Behind, then, no child will get very far, will they?” But we can understand why Obama might want to destroy the last vestiges of the Kennedy influence in leftist American politics. You see the Kennedy’s were the privileged, the entitled, the nobility of the liberal set. They were the corporate (actually family) jet-owners, or corporate yacht-owners, supreme.  At some point,  they had made enough money, hadn’t they?  Why, except for the fact that they were Irish, they might as well have been (ugh!) British!  They had more than it all. They had a large, all-white, supposedly really Catholic  family and the kids never got carted off to a faraway place and dumped into a  madrassa or abstinence school. (Well, except for Rosemary).

And the last straw in the loathing of Obama & Associates  for the Kennedys was when the snobs  made a mess of the radicals’ plans, and Obama’s pleas, for windmills in place of oil, because the windfarm proposed off Hyannisport would have spoiled their rosy view and interfered with their  yachting. Oh, wasn’t that a dysfunctional, mangled wrangled affair.  If it had a snowball’s chance anywhere in the country, it’s fate was sealed by the Kennedys’ putting their foot down as  NIMBYs non pariel.  Rumor has it that RFK, Jr. has gone paranoid schizophrenic in juggling family and environment, wheeling and dealing to keep windmills and yachts in their proper places.

The biggest stick in the craw may have been the famous Osama/Obama gaffe a few years back when Ted was still something of a bulldog, or lion, or something.  But whatever the hard feelings, the main point is that NCLB is caput; its cardinal tenets of visible opportunity and measureable achievement gone with the wind, both because of his ‘punish your enemies’ mindset and  because Barack Obama is always and forever not about achievement, at least scholastic and  economic achievement.  So the Kennedy kids drown their sorrows in the dregs of Grandpa Joe’s bootleg liquor and wonder how it ever got so crazy.

To the Kennedy Family:  Do you miss him yet?  No, not Teddy.  That fellow from Texas.

Attendance played a big part in Obama’s education, did he do anything besides attend? His Senate terms in both IL and the US were pretty much the same, show up, run your gob, vote present, cash the checks. Its easy work if you can get it.

What smacked me right in the face from this post was the “Hillary Clinton foregoing the rocking chair” sentence. I spend a fair amount of time in my car each weekday morning and usually have Beck on the radio helping me to pass the time. I also watched his 5:00 every day for two years. Love him or hate him, he did more to wake up middle America than any other single individual. Anyway, about 6 months ago, and I do not remember if it was on the radio or the TV, he made a statement to the effect that… Read more »
