This news brief from AP, that the men were composed largely of Navy Seals and support moving into Wardak Province, east of Kabul, on a special operations.

Taliban has taken credit for the shoot-down.

This is the largest casualty incident of the nearly 10-year long war.

We will, of course, post a memorial here as the names of the dead are released, but that may take a few days for all the families to have been notified.

In the meantime, keep the families of these brave warriors in your thoughts and prayers.

Either Obama is determined to win this war or Congress needs to pull the funding and end it, there is no way in hell our guys should be dying in this God-forsaken hellhole without a clear plan for VICTORY!

As SGF said, we will pay our respects and offer our prayers. My immediate reaction is that whoever wants to be the *next* commander-in-chief, if he/she doesn’t already have one made out, needs to be formulating what the US military needs to be, and what it *will* be under his/her command, and what our objectives will be as a nation. And we need to hear this, starting real soon.

Nothing political about this, folks. This is war. This is what the enemy does; try to kill us. This is what we do to them as well.

Let’s not make these warriors out to be victims.
