In 1953, the Republicans were in control of the House, Senate, and the Presidency for the first time in 24 years. It would be 50 years after 1953 that the Republicans had this much control again. In 2009, the Democrats were in control of the House, Senate, and Presidency for the first time in 16 years. I prefer that not even after 50 years the Democrats get hold of this much power again.
So let’s compare the 34th President to the 44th President and the 83rd Congress to the 111th Congress in photos and graphs.
Now let’s compare the total federal spending for the 83rd Congress vs the 111th Congress. Each Congress only has control for two consecutive years. Any of this talk in the 112th Congress about 10 year spending plans is smoke and mirrors. Don’t talk to me about spending cuts unless you are making them in 2012 and 2013. You own the spending for those two years just like the 83rd owned the 1954 and 1955 spending and the 111th owned the 2010 and 2011 spending.

Napoleon Bonaparte said a picture is worth a thousand words. I find irony that there appears to be those who want America to go the way of France with “social justice” bringing about an American Napoleon. I do not think it will work here. The Tea Partiers and their supporters still outnumber the statists.
