MSGT Benjamin A Stevenson, 36, of Canyon Lake, TX

died 21 July, in Paktika Province, Afghanistan from small arms fire

He was of  US Army Special Operations Command, Ft Bragg

Stand Down, Master Sergeant

Rest in Peace

Give me, my God, what you still have;

give me what no one asks for.
I do not ask for wealth, nor success,
nor even health.

People ask you so often, God, for all that,
that you cannot have any left.
Give me, my God, what you still have.
Give me what people refuse to accept from you.
I want insecurity and disquietude;
I want turmoil and brawl.

And if you should give them to me,

my God, once and for all,
let me be sure to have them always,
for I will not always
have the courage to ask for them.

  1. I don’t usually say anything in these posts because it is heartbreaking just to share them EACH AND EVERY DAY for the past 60+ days over at FreedomTorch and Twitter. Our finest are dying for a war the President does not want VICTORY in, shameful and quite sad!

  2. Thank you for your service to this country Master Sgt Stevenson. I and many others will not forget your service and the ultimate sacrifice you gave toward keeping and advancing this great country toward freedom.

    Rest assured, your sacrifice will not be in vain. May God grant your soul comfort, and comfort to those left behind as well.
