Make Obama Put What He Wants In Writing

There is no way Republicans should accept anymore “words” from Obama, force him to put in writing what he wants, because he will twist the knife in your back and pull it out and let the Democrats in Congress stab you again. If you think for one moment that anything this President promises with his mouth can be trusted, just see how everything he says comes with an expiration date I Know And Everyone Knows That Something Has To Change With Social Security, But Obama Cannot Be Trusted To Do The Right Thing

President Barack Obama and lawmakers are considering cutting Social Security and increasing revenue by changing the way the government measures inflation.

Four senior congressional aides said lawmakers are discussing using an alternative yardstick to gauge inflation, known as the “chained consumer price index,” to determine annual cost-of-living adjustments for millions of Americans.

The idea may rile both Democrats and Republicans, because it could mean paring Social Security by $112 billion over 10 years, raising taxes by $60 billion and cutting pension and veterans’ disability payments by $24 billion, according to estimates by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office and the Joint Committee on Taxation.

Advocates say the change is needed because the government’s current measure of inflation overstates how quickly prices rise.

One thing I do know is that a Veteran should never be looked at for savings, there is NPR, Planned Parenthood and taxing Union dues as well as taxing wealth, you know like College’s billions or Immelt of GE’s billions, instead of income taxes, that should be some of the places to look at and I can come up with many more places.

  1. Another change to how they figure cost-of-living? They already leave out the cost of food and energy, so I guess they will also take out the rising cost of healthcare and, of course, clothing.

    What’s left to measure? Netflix?

  2. One thing about Obama: he’s a consistent [redacted], untrustworthy in all his ways.

They manage to flush a few trillion dollars down the toilet, and then decide they’re going to raise taxes and non-reform entitlements to balance the budget. That town lives on the other side of the looking glass.

    • I cannot believe that Boehner and Cantor etc are even discussing behind closed doors anything with this serial liar! he said he would be the most open Administration ever, make him be!

  3. Republicans have consistently opposed his economic proposals and seem to be running on a slogan of “No, we can’t,” presidential campaign mantra of “Yes we can.” Tell us how they are going to cut tax for the rich which will balance the budget and create jobs. I remember when the GOP was in control. They drove up record deficits to pass tax cuts for the wealthy at the expense of the middle class. The GOP did nothing to convince me they would do anything different than the status quo.

    • No! Tell me you didn’t just say the GOP ran up record deficits! Have you looked around a bit over the last couple years? Oh wait, I know, it’s all Bush’s fault, that must be the ticket! I hope to jump we oppose his economic proposals, which are spend, spend, spend.

        • no link yet soulstraw? weird, you liberals always have facts and data at your immediate disposal…oozing right off your fingertips and right out of your… er, um… superior brains.

Perhaps you’re busy just now, saving us from ourselves, so let me help get you started here, via the racist Washington Post…oh wait, the WaPo isn’t racist! silly me:

          Obama v. Bush deficits

Help us understand how that graph from 2009 (note, the numbers are worse now than were projected 2 yrs ago) indicates that your President EVER did lower deficits than any of Bush’s numbers (which were, admittedly, bad enough in their own right).

We’d be in less of a hole today had we given ‘ol W 4 more years, even if he sucked now worse than EVER in any of his prior 8.

updated: and if you want, read about every month of your President’s administration being in the red…for the first time ever since the record was being kept..

            2. When Bush left office the national debt 10.6 trillion dollars, what that means is no matter what Obama did the interests on that debt would be about 1.2 trillion a year. That means Obama did not increase the debt by 2.4 trillion that was interest from the past debt. He did increase the debt by a trillion dollars which means he increased about 1.4 billion a day.

            • Interesting source.

So you suggest that none of the policies since he was sworn in have made the problem worse? That his direct influence is inconsequential, and it all looks bad solely because Bush’s debt interest payments have hamstrung Obama…that he’s a victim in all this?

Anxiously awaiting your response, and the part where you stop conflating deficit and debt which are two distinctly different issues.

                • Speaking of defined terms…1)What is the Econ 101 word for a sustained recession that lasts more than 13 months (4 quarters) ? (Hint: it starts with a “d”, we haven’t seen one of these since the 1930s.)
2)Who has been President for at least the last 30 months? (Starts with an “O.”) 3) Finally: heard around the kitchen table in millions of American homes right now: “Who has been screwing up this economy bigtime?” See #2 above.

            • So you bring some link from a lefty site to counter what I posted here? why not try the FACTS next time, perhaps that lefty site and the Obama Administration and every leftist hack Democrat could start with actual FACTS, you know the kind that no matter what you tools spit out wear out the American public everyday who are living this nightmare. NEVER has a President besides Jimmy Carter in the common era not brought us out of a downturn and yet here we are with an idiot whose faculty lounge Administration has no real world experience to draw upon and they continue to do labwork on the American public when the FACTS and HISTORY have shown the way forward!

        • Obama had a budget? Which year are you referencing? My understanding is that it has been over 800 days since the Democrat Congress passed a budget. And the Democrats had control of the Congress since 2006. So, again which budget are your talking about? When he came into the office the one he had would have been passed by the 110th Congress, Dems in Control.

Your pathetic Obama and Leftists Dems have taken the country down the path to economic ruin. Socialism is your goal? Well take a look at Western Europe, oh wait, peek in on Greece, Spain, Portugal, first. I only wish cowards like you would pack up and go live where in your dream countries, instead of trying to destroy this one.

    • He had TWO FULL YEARS of the Democrats shoving through his proposals and they have FAILED you idiot! now come back and talk about how the Democrats have trashed this Country in four years of Congress and TWO FULL years of control!
