Addiction: GOP Edition

So November 2010 comes along and We The People say ENOUGH with the out of control spending from elected officials in DC. We even sent a whole new crop of Congressman to heed that call. What we didn’t do though is thoroughly destroy the “drug pushers” like Buck McKeon (R-CA) To Change Washington, We The People Need To Remove The Drug Pushers

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) bestowed its ‘porker of the month’ honor on California Republican Rep. Howard “Buck” McKeon this week for “his dogged pursuit of pork and weaseling his way around the ongoing earmark ban.”

The self-proclaimed “taxpayer watchdog” cited McKeon’s role in establishing the Mission Force Enhancement Transfer Fund, which it calls a “$1 billion slush fund” created by the House Armed Services Committee chairman to circumvent House Republicans’ ban on earmarks.

The final version of the fund, passed as part of the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act, “contains 111 legislative provisions costing taxpayers $651.7 million,” according to CAGW. “59 of the provisions, or 53 percent, appear to be similar to projects defined as earmarks in CAGW’s 2010 Congressional Pig Book,” the group says.

According to CAGW, the fund “seems to be designed to allow members to secure pork for their districts without violating the congressional earmark moratorium.”

You see people like McKeon will always find a way to subvert the will of the people. They have been there so long as to think that this to shall come to pass and that the American people will go back to sleep. They really haven’t heard the clarion call from We The People, that enough is enough. We didn’t sit out here screaming NO since 2008 and the TARP bill to allow those who would ignore us to continue on. It seems to me that if the TEA Party is going to be removing GOP Congressmen and Senators that they start with those who have been there longer then the screaming began!

  1. Porker of the month. McKeon will probably wear that as a badge of pride. That’s how far gone some of these guys are. We’re broke and they carry on like it’s the ’70s, forcing the printing presses to run 24/7.

  2. McKeon in this photo fails the “does he look honest?” test with a full five star weasel rating; and, this appropriation doesn’t pass the smell test either. Just sayin, though, there’s an oh say 5% chance this account is a black ops subterfuge (this is how they do it)and the money will go to what I consider excellent uses offing bad guys in places we aren’t supposed to be in. Shame they can’t just come out anymore and say “this is an operating expense account for the needs of the clandestine services.” That went out the window long ago with Frank Church, Admiral Inman and Jimmy Carter. Meanwhile, if this is in fact what it appears to be yes further tea party electoral executive action is highly warranted against these stealth RINOs.
