Mr. “Stone Henry Hyde” for Mayor of NYC?

Liberal Actor Alec Baldwin is said to be contemplating running for mayor of New York City. Anthony Weiner was thought to be the leading candidate, but he has, shall we say, petered out. All things considered, Baldwin is the perfect candidate. He is liberal enough for the most liberal city in America.

Baldwin probably needs a career change, too. As he ages, the prime parts for the actor will become fewer and fewer. But he just might be a hit as mayor since he’s at least as odd, if not as rich as Mayor Bloomberg. He could pick right up where Bloomberg leaves off in trying to control New Yorker’s diets. Yeah, every restaurant in New York City will be vegetarian only.

NYC is full of crazy people and so Baldwin qualifies on that, too. How crazy? Really, Really crazy. Listen:

Yep, Baldwin is a perfect fit for the Big Rotten Apple.

  1. Agreed, my favorite Cliffs Notes intellectual is a perfect match for NYC. Then finally they can fix their budget problems…or, as is more likely, the rats will come storming out of the sewers.

  2. Since I don’t live there and have no plans to visit, I say, elect away! What could go wrong? These days, NY specializes in electing dysfunctional folks, so Mr. Baldwin would likely be a smashing success. Cheers!

  3. You go, tg! As I recall, there is also out there a tirade he went on to his daughter, in which he called her a pig. His campaign may not get a lot of traction, but who knows? What is puzzling to me is how these celebrity nutjobs, like Al Franken, et al, even get out of the starting gate. You would think that up-and-comers in Minnesota, New York or wherever, who have worked hard and been good citizens, become state senators or city councilmen, would think maybe they ought to be given a shot at the next level of service and would be having none of these ‘interlopers’ coming in and grabbing the stage.
