Over My Cold Dead Body Mr. Obama

Under the cover of UN darkness, it appears there was more than a little truth to the story a while back about that pesky little UN Small Arms Treaty everyone was in a lather over. Remember, now, the US has endorsed this plan under Obama’s watchful eye and his SecState means to get it ratified…and did I mention they are both anti-gun?

Back then there was much grumbling over the idea of the US signing off on an international treaty because in part, among other “minor details”, the co-signers would include all those people who want to see us dead. You know the ones… those little kingdoms and desert paradises with all those stark raving lunatics who strap bombs to their women and children and blow up innocent civilians in open markets and on buses (and airplanes if they can get through security). Remember them?

So…we need American citizens to give up our personal arms in order to make these freaks, most of whom want to kill Americans and Jews, feel better about themselves and not want to kill us anymore?

I got that right?

The other problem, and the one that revisits us today, is the idea that American Citizens would have their Constitutional rights replaced with the self-proclaimed ‘greater wisdom’ of the international community and those “leaders” who are only trying to make this a more peaceful world.

Nope…I don’t believe them either…

According to Forbes the UN means to make the us abandon it’s 2nd Amendment rights…and the Moron in Chief fully supports the idea:

Under the guise of a proposed global “Small Arms Treaty” premised to fight “terrorism”, “insurgency” and “international crime syndicates” you can be quite certain that an even more insidious threat is being targeted – our Constitutional right for law-abiding citizens to own and bear arms.
[snip]
Have no doubt that this plan is very real, with strong Obama administration support. In January 2010 the U.S. joined 152 other countries in endorsing a U.N. Arms Treaty Resolution that will establish a 2012 conference to draft a blueprint for enactment. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has pledged to push for Senate ratification.

Former U.N. ambassador John Bolton has cautioned gun owners to take this initiative seriously, stating that the U.N. “is trying to act as though this is really just a treaty about international arms trade between nation states, but there is no doubt that the real agenda here is domestic firearms control.”

In order to understand the logic of this one must make a huge…tremendously gi-normous… leap of faith, which is to believe there would be no more terrorism if guns were only in the hands of the Military and Law Enforcement (Darfur anyone?). Anyone else but me having a really hard time buying into this nonsense?

Later in the Forbes piece we get a couple interesting stats:

[L]aw-abiding citizens in America used guns in self-defense 2.5 million times during 1993 (about 6,850 times per day), and actually shot and killed 2 1/2 times as many criminals as police did (1,527 to 606). Those civilian self-defense shootings resulted in less than 1/5th as many incidents as police where an innocent person was mistakenly identified as a criminal (2% versus 11%).

Given that these numbers are from 8 years ago I’d offer that it is a safe bet we’re defending ourselves even MORE now, in light of the numbers of states that have been ADDED to the rolls of those with even MORE 2nd Amendment rights having been conferred upon their citizens…and the author (Larry Bell) agrees:

Recognizing clear statistical benefit evidence, 41 states now allow competent, law-abiding adults to carry permitted or permit-exempt concealed handguns. As a result, crime rates in those states have typically fallen at least 10% in the year following enactment.

I’m not seeing the value nor the point in undoing all these improvements in the numbers which has, clearly, been due to more sensible gun rights finally being recognized in State Legislatures across the country. I’m especially not making the connection between Americans giving up their guns and less radical Muslims killing each other while looking for new ways to kill us.

This whole nonsensical idea will find it’s way to the floor of the US Senate soon enough, and one would “hope” they’d have the good sense God gave them to see this for what it is and vote a resounding “No.” Speaking only for myself, however, I’ll go out and buy more now…and continue stockpiling ammunition…on the outside chance they do not.

There's not much to say... I come from a long line of Appalachian folk that landed in America long before flipping off the King was even a twinkle in the eyes of our founding fathers. We have been Carpenters and coal miners... Soldiers & Sailors and pig farmers and Sunday morning circuit-riding preachers. Hell, I'm told we have even been fairly decent bootleggers too.

  1. As Sean Hannity would say, “You’re a Great American, ‘stack.”
Speaking of people who are obviously way better and more important than us knowing what is good for both of us, had you heard this one? …..”The California state Senate voted 28-8 Wednesday to exempt itself from the pointless gun-control laws that apply to the rest of the populace. Legislators apparently think they alone are worthy to pack heat on the streets for personal protection, and the masses ought to wait until the police arrive”. – From WashTimes

    • Thanks BobM…and no I hadn’t, but then again, I’m not surprised.

I think a good question to ask would be “what are they afraid of?” Because CERTAINLY they are well enough protected by Law Enforcement and all those anti-gun and anti-crime laws they have on the books.

Does this mean THEY don’t trust anyone but THEMSELVES to guarantee their safety?

Inquiring minds would like to know.

  2. I didn’t think there was any ammo left to buy. There has been a major run on it since the O got elected.

There is little question in my mind that if the gov. ever started trying to round up all of our firearms, it would truly be the next Civil War.

        • Have you heard anything more about Fred’s case recently? Is he free on bond?

In my local town, there is a kook, and I mean kook, who owns an Army and Navy store. When my husband and I went in to get me pepper spray, he started showing us all kinds of stuff on the computer, like those old army bases that were converted into police prisons, rolling eyes, and some of the most whacked out conspiracy theory stuff, it was pathetic. He said that he sold everything, and lives in an RV. He said he wanted to be able to run for the hills when Obama calls martial law. He sells guns, but they shut someone down like Fred. Very sad.

      • Bob- O’Biden promised to increase the price of ammo, probably thinking if the Americans were broke, they wouldn’t be buying ammo. He underestimates those that would give up a few meals for a box of ammo.

Even if Operation Fast and Furious was for the purpose of tracking weapons, which I don’t believe, how about all of the unregistered guns, like the ones you buy from friends, neighbors family members etc? Can’t you remove the serial numbers from weapons? What about the weapons that are bought and sold on the black market? Several years ago, I dated a guy that had his own little 6 seater plane. We flew to different islands several times, and back home to the little local airport in Princeton, NJ. No one ever checked anything at either end. I can’t imagine that they could ever trace even a large portion of what’s out there.

My husband and I talked about burying a metal box with a weapon and ammo in it somewhere unsuspecting on the property.

      • In the wake of the IL general assembly “shooting down” concealed carry, the Chicago loop is beset by gangs of so-called “youths” beating and stealing. The latest occurrence was on the Gold Coast. Not supposed to happen there.

  3. Remember back when Obama signed an EO authorizing the UN international fuzz, Interpol, to operate inside the US, in case of riots or other types of unrest? They are unaccountable, and above all of our laws according to the EO. If anyone tried to confiscate the citizen’s weapons, there would be more than a little unrest across the nation.

Question, if Interpol, a UN international police force to quell riots and unrest, even exists, why aren’t they quelling the rioting and unrest in the Middle East? Or, was that yet another transfer of funding to the Obama 2012 re-election campaign, or perhaps a down payment on the future purchase of the head seat at the UN for Obama?

Does a UN treaty trump our Constitution? I know Obama thinks it does, but, according to law and the Constitution, can the UN prevail against our 2nd Amendment?

    • I’m 100% sure the Constitution supersedes any treaty and those rights can’t be infringed by the UN.

OTOH, 4 members of the SC (or 5, depending on Anthony Kennedy’s mood) don’t care about the Constitution, so there’s that…

  4. It’s really amazing when you think about it, the American middle class is on its own standing off the whole world & repeated economic assaults by Obama’s socialist planners plus incessant legal assaults from the One Worlders at the UN and EU. I won’t get into the conspiracy angle but fer sure this standoff is what’s really happening. The only thing the American middle class has going for it in this fight, in concrete terms, is that like virtually nowhere else on planet Earth,-it is armed. It brought guns to a gunfight – though the other side refuses to admit it is a gunfight. In answer to your question SEC the Constitution gives our Senate and President the right to enter into treaties with outside political entities, but the UN Charter may not trump the Second or any other Amendment, for example. That is why it is o important for Obama to pack the court with Kaganesque OneWorlders and Marxists. they can get him around this safeguard by just ignoring or misconstruing plain English in the document. Or, even more disingenuously, by “discovering” universal “rights” in the Constitution that aren’t there, and should be sought for rather in the several state constitutions.

    • ‘jack: When the Supremes gave US Constitutional rights to terrorists, it effectively destroyed US sovereignty, the meaning of US citizenship. It was a terrible, terrible precedent.. The preamble to the Constitution says “We the people of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA…….do ordain and establish this Constitution…..for OURSELVES…and our posterity” nOT FOR THE aFGHANIS, OR THE yEMENIS, OR FOR THEIR POSTERITY….FOR US AND OURS.
