It appears that Timothy, the guy who cannot use tax software to get his taxes correct, and was given the job that sits in judgment of other tax payers, is pushing a lie. He is doing what Democrats always do, they use their media wing, CBS, NBC, ABC etc., to push their version of a meeting, then tells the American people that a deal is done, when the truth is, no such thing actually occurred. Timothy’s Recollections:
Geithner said Thursday after a meeting with freshmen Republicans in the House that a default crisis will be avoided, as Congress and the White House can reach a deal on long-term fiscal plans this summer.
The U.S. Treasury Department stressed on Wednesday that the nation has hit the 14.29-trillion-U.S.-dollar legal ceiling on borrowings and was starting to take extraordinary measures to buy some time until Aug. 2 for Democrats and Republicans to ink a deal and ward off a default on U.S. debt.
Geithner has repeatedly urged Congress to avoid the catastrophic economic and market consequences of a default crisis by raising the statutory debt limit in a timely manner to avoid first-ever federal government default on its obligations.
Now the reality of what actually happened is nothing even close to a deal: That Whole Black Magic Of Reality, Jumps Up And Smacks Timothy In The Face
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner did little to convince freshman GOP lawmakers of the newfound urgency of raising the debt ceiling on Thursday.
House freshman lawmakers who attended the late day bicameral closed-door meeting said that Geithner’s refusal to present a “scorable†plan that would reduce the deficit in exchange for a must-pass debt limit increase, left many feeling frustrated.
Rep. Steve Chabot (R-Ohio), who sat through most of the hour-long meeting, told The Hill that Geithner said “absolutely nothing†to convince him of the urgent need to increase the current $14.3 trillion limit by the August 2 deadline.
I, of course, am of the mind, that enough, is more than enough. It is time to put the brakes on this out of control spending. The Federal Government does not have a revenue problem, they have a spending addiction and those Congressmen and women we sent to Washington are there to put DC in rehab!
