Not Paying Private Ryan – Updated 06/05/11

That will be the title of the next movie that is done on the Military because it appears that in Barack Obama’s budget cuts the Military is an area he can cut. It is disgusting because National Pandhandler Radio is exempt, Planned Parenthood is exempt, but the men and women who fight on the battlefield for the above mentioned entities to exist, are not exempt. I Hope To Hell Anyone Who Votes For This Burns In Hell.

The Pentagon’s top officer said Thursday that servicemembers will likely see cuts in pay and benefits as the military plumbs its budget for nearly half a trillion dollars in savings over the next 12 years.

Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen warned against taking the “relatively easy” choice of cutting hardware while maintaining the increasing costs of paying and providing ongoing health care to troops and retirees.

“Two of the big places the money is, is in pay and benefits,” Mullen told defense reporters at a June 2 breakfast meeting in Washington. “And so when I say all things are on the table, all things are on the table.”

In May, President Obama proposed sweeping budget cuts totaling $400 billion over the next 12 years — a fiscal hit experts say will largely come from the DoD. Defense Secretary Robert Gates has said health care costs are “eating the Department of Defense alive” — with nearly 10 percent of the budget going to health benefits for active and retired servicemembers.

That anyone in Congress or the Department of Defense, would even think, let alone seriously consider cutting pay/benefits from those who sacrifice the most for our Country, is UN-American. I know the leftists in the Faculty Lounge Administration, including their leader Barack Hussein Obama, despise the Military but this is even more depraved then any of their other acts. I encourage each and every one of you to contact your Congressman or woman and tell them “HELL NO” you won’t do this to our fine men and women, and if they choose to vote yes on any legislation that includes these cuts, they will be fired!

Update

I don’t think I could have expressed in any stronger language (though I wanted to) what exactly taking pay and benefits away from those who fight and die for We The People then this soldier did in his final words to his wife and child. You see, he has shown the type of man and woman that we send to die in the name of the United States of America and why they should be the highest paid members of our society, not considered for less money and less benefits. They Fight Because They Love This Country, They Are Not Political Pawns, Mr. Obama.

He then told her to be strong for their daughter, who had been just nine months old when he left for the war zone in June 2010.

‘Remind her about her Daddy and tell her that I loved her more than anything else in the world,’ he wrote.

‘Her birth was the best day of my life and she was the best thing that ever happened to me. Tell her that Daddy is in heaven now and will watch over her and protect her every minute of every day.’

  1. Soooo…..pay and benefits, huh? So in addition to cutting their pay, they are going to stop taking such good care of their health? What’s next? Going to cut them back to 700 calories a day? Sounds like a recipe for sabotaging the military to me!!!

      • Good article thanks Jaded. My family members in the Army warned me about this, it is for real. They know it is coming. And on this one, there is quiet rage so I am told, at the very senior command levels of the branches doing most of the fighting and dying in Afghanistan (Army, Marines). It is considered well nigh dereliction of duty by the commander-in-chief to be treated this way, prioritized below SEIU and other uniion thugs.

        • The Military for the first time in its HISTORY needs to speak as one on this issue and defy command, there is NO WAY that this should be where cuts are made. There should be less contractors, less Generals, less administration BUT not less pay and benefits for those dying for OUR Country!

        • Speaking of fighting and dying in Afghanistan, what do you suppose…Black Jack Pershing, George S. Patton, Douglas MacArthur….. would have told them if they were told to conduct sensitivity training in re homosexuals in the military, while they were on the battlefield, supposedly waging war, and people were ….fighting and dying?

  2. it’s ironic and a little pathetic that the left hates the military…and when, God forbid, an enemy reaches our shore and threatens their cavier and electric cars, they’ll be the first to squeel…they yell and sue their way into a mindframe of socialism but when the tough times crash on our heads, they’ll be the ones in the corner wetting themselves…
i really don’t like the liberal left…i am a daughter and granddaughter of vets…i love my country…they don’t.

  3. This, while we are funding Social Security disability payments for “adult babies”, cowboy poetry festivals, frisbee golf courses, and the like….it just truly boggles the mind.

I recommend a re-reading of this post, concurrently with Senator Coburn’s Pork Report, anytime any of us start feeling our energy and resolve flagging. Great job, Jaded.

  4. In he 1990s when so many firms in the hated-by- Obama energy industry had to downsize to stay in business, the company, the company I worked for seriously studied line efficiency and org charts and decided it could eliminate one entire level of management and keep functioning, though it was not optimal. Point being, laying off or salary cutting the troops (employees) doing the day to day work was looked at and quickly rejected. I have no doubt there are levels of managment in the federal government that are mostly political or ancillary to the next highest level. If they are serious, they could save lots of $$$$bucks by starting at the top instead of the bottom. Government has not felt the pain the private sector has endured the last 2 years. Obama havingt never worked a real job, thinks the private sector is all money trees and chocolate bunny rabbits.

  5. If this actually comes to pass, it may well be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Those who are stuck in a Viet Nam era mentality regarding the military haven’t been paying attention; in addition to sneering at the War Powers Act, trimming pay & bennies for the military will push any remaining leaners into the Anti-Lib camp for sure. You can’t balance the budget on the back of those engaged in a feverish Ops tempo, kinetic or not. This won’t sit well with the great unwashed independents, most of whom he’s already lost anyhow.
