Bill Clinton throws ObamaCare he helped pass under the bus

The Medicare mess would be less so absent the former President’s duplicity at the Thirteenth Hour last year when he admonished all Democrat senators and all necessary House members to vote for ObamaCare on the third try.

The Slick One’s argument at that time was to get the flawed thing into law for the purpose of granting government more power. After all, it could be fixed later. The official argument for ObamaCare’s passage was that it would save Medicare, reduce private insurance premiums, reduce medical costs and insure the uninsured (with the latter being paid for by cuts in Medicare of $500B).

ObamaDems said ObamaCare would fix Medicare

Instead, medical costs and insurance premiums are rising as Medicare’s descent into bankruptcy accelerates. Federal judges have ruled that ObamaCare is unconstitutional. But the power Bill Clinton desired for his fellow Democrat is being wielded via waivers for the party faithful.

2010 voters demanded repeal of ObamaCare

Tea partiers demanded that the economy be fixed, the debt be arrested and ObamaCare be repealed.

The fixing began when the GOP re-took the House of Representatives. It wasn’t a coincidence that the jobs recession we still live under began 11 months after the party of Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi took over Congress in January of 2007.

Bill Clinton ends post NY-26 donkey hee-haws

Bill Clinton on the Democrats’ budget silence and worse “Medi-scare” demagoguery on the Ryan Plan in the aftermath of the NY-26 special House race election last week:

“So anyway, I told them before you got here, I said I’m glad we won this race in New York,” Clinton told Ryan, when the two met backstage at a forum on the national debt held by the Pete Peterson Foundation. But he added, “I hope Democrats don’t use this as an excuse to do nothing.”

“I think the Democrats are going to have to be willing to give up, maybe, some short-term political gain by whipping up fears on some of these things — if it’s a reasonable Social Security proposal, a reasonable Medicare proposal. We’ve got to deal with these things.

You cannot have health care devour the economy.”

Clinton helped push Dems to pass ObamaCare the third try which program made an already failing Medicare program worse by cutting $500B to insure others.

Lesson for the electorate: Democrats cannot be trusted. Not one.

But we appreciate the soundbites ripe for 2012, especially that we “cannot have health care devour the economy” and more especially when the size of the economy it is devouring grows more anemic everyday.

Potential investors and job producers saw this mess coming when Democrats promising to curtail oil drilling, increase regulations and raise taxes on the rich took over Congress in 2007. Atlas started shrugging and hasn’t stopped since even if they did hire some Wall Street whizzes to help divide Bernanke’s presents to banks.

ObamaDem answer to all problems: Raise taxes on the rich

Now, the only Democrat response to admitted ongoing Medicare problems that ObamaCare didn’t solve is to raise taxes on the rich, thus adding to ObamaCare tax increases a 62% top rate.

The Gang of Six lost Coburn over “tax triggers“, as the rest of the congressional Democrat caucus remains fixated on tax rate increases on the rich that would not raise revenue to close the deficit. Much like President Obama on capital gains taxes, its not about the deficit. Rather, its about the Left’s twisted sense of social justice and fairness.

The only problem they want to solve, and then only just before elections, is their own power needs. Otherwise, its reform before recovery, much like FDR in the early 1930s and Obama’s first 2.5 years as President. Even John Maynard Keynes himself objected to such tactics.

Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell (R-KY) stood firm on taxes this past Sunday: We have enough tax revenues!; as Obama floats more taxes on gasoline that would further cripple the poor and middle call as they pursue happiness daring to go from A to B to buy food, get to work, or look for work.

A little GOP spine will win 2012 in a landslide

I had agreed that it would have been easier to just go after Medicaid before the 2012 election, as Dick Morris advised, and as the Toomey budget proposes, but the gauntlet has now been thrown, and Republicans must now embrace their near unanimous votes on Ryan’s Medicare plan.

Conservatives have the moral and economic high ground. The facts are on our side. There is no reason to fear Obama and granny-off-the-cliff ads.

All it takes to win 2012 in a landslide is the courage to go after Obama head on armed with the facts and Bill Clinton quotes.

  1. Is Clinton really throwing Obamacare under the bus? Clinton is the master prevaricating triangulator. When his Progressive Party was trounced and bounced from Washington during his presidency, he had to mater techniques in order to save his butt when he was up for re-election.

I very highly doubt that Clinton would do anything to help Obama. He is trying his darndest to keep the Progressives from being relegated to the ash heap. As the Won said of the 2010 elections, they got shellacked. There is every indication that the same will happen again in 2012, including the WH. Besides, even if Clinton wanted to help the Won, I doubt the Won would lend him an ear.

  2. I think that “GOP Spine” we all dream of seeing is going to have to come from the Freshmen, Lord knows we haven’t seen signs of a spine in any of the GOP Leadership since at least 2007. They talk a good fight right up until they curl up, cover their private parts with their tails and pee on the carpet. If I had a dog as useless as the GOP Leadership I’d take it for swimming lessons inside a gunnysack with a large rock.

  3. Bill Clinton is the first politician that made me WAKE UP and see that they are LIARS, it is his pathetic lying and screwing around on his wife that set the stage for JadebyPolitics coming to be.

  4. Perhaps Slick Willie thought it was only sporting, since Newt had provided some sound bites for the Ds with his right wing social engineering comment to Gregory, for the Rs to have some sound bites from him. I do not know what he is thinking, and I do not really care to guess. The number one lesson you provide is all that I need to remember: Democrats cannot be trusted. Not one.
