Rest well, peace and grace
drink some beer and stuff your face
to work it off you can run in place
there’s jenny craig in the freezer, just in case

Jump on facebook and pimp your stack
hop on twitter to retweet it back
if you don’t love activism like a ho loves crack
then get the heck out and never come back

If you’ve had a bad day and you’re ready to fight
remember our soldiers and rest easy tonight
they’re out there fighting with all of their might
even though their boy president isn’t so bright

Yes our president is surely a different level of dumb
just as sure as the end of this poem will come
people will defend him, I’m sure they’ll be some
it’s too bad Jake Tapper will enjoy being mum

Just look at our president, he’s checkin out ass
I could prolly be nicer and not be so crass
so if he’s glaring at women I could give two large shites
but I’ll tell you the reason, Michelle don’t wear tights

Smoking cigarettes and joints, there was plenty of those
and god only witnessed what he stuck up his nose
with affirmative action he recieved much more from less
he should release his school records, but I digress

Did you see the video where he flubs the royal toast
I’ll point out the part that I truley like most
just one simple paragraph, you would think he’d be able
but he’s keeps looking down and reading notes on the table

The Totus was absent and Zero was bummed
the grand total of his IQ the queen had summed
“he’s sharp as a marble!” the people announced
“and in 2012, we hope he is trounced”

Have a bar-b-que or march in a parade
enjoy the peace our armed forces have made
our soldiers are heros and deserve our respect
just count up your freedoms they gladly protect

So Rest well, peace and grace
drink some beer and stuff your face
remember the troops and become a PC
in the home of the brave and the land of the free

And this seems like a great place to put my own favorite Memorial Day contribution. In order to survive this time of reflection and gratitude, I pause to appreciate the fact that God has given us warriors, blessed with courage, wisdom, talent, and a kind of manhood that defines manhood.

Some have given all and some have given so very, very much, but they are men above men and I love them. I am thunderstruck by their power and the power of their devotion and bravery in the face of whatever the world’s despots have thrown at them.

It’s been an interesting week all the way around, hasn’t it? I have a few soldiers I’m going to visit on Monday, special friends of mine who can’t get out much anymore.

God bless each of them, and thanks from the bottom of my heart.
