The Case For An Obama Impeachment: Part I

There comes a time in the history of any Nation where the transgressions of the elite and the governing power(s), and the number of their usurpations of the rights and privileges of the governed, will drive that Nation’s citizenry to war. Be they ideological wars, or the seditious acts of oppressed men that invariably precede insurrection, violent conflict (physical or philosophical) is always the end-game in the fight to gain (or preserve) a man’s freedom and the “certain unalienable Rights” he was granted by his Creator. Though not off the table, for now, violent acts of resistance against the oligarchy we, the People, have allowed ourselves to fall prey to, are not beyond the realm of possibility in the near future… in the short term, however, they wouldn’t serve us much good.



The pitiful state of affairs amongst the American electorate is, likely, causing our Founders to roll over in their graves like John Deere roto-tillers. Voter turnout is abysmal, public apathy is shameful and embarrassing, no one seems willing to draw any lines in the sand against the over-reach of big Government, and the blatant opportunism on the parts of our elected officials… whom we knowingly allow to get away with ignoring our demands and repressing our will… is destroying the very fabric of our Nation. And it’s our own fault. And it’s going to take unprecedented action to put a stop to what the ‘activist-community-organizer-turned President’ has done to it and to us.

Impeachment is mentioned in our guiding document – the United States Constitution – six times, so let’s get the technicalities out of the way first.

Art. I, Sect. 2, Clause 5: “The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.”

Art. I, Sect. 3, Clause 6: “The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.”

Art. I, Sect. 3, Clause 7: “Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.”

Art. II, Sect. 2, Clause 1: “The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.”

Art. II, Sect. 4: “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.’

Art. III, Sect. 2, Clause 3: “The Trial of all Crimes, except in Cases of Impeachment, shall be by Jury; and such Trial shall be held in the State where the said Crimes shall have been committed; but when not committed within any State, the Trial shall be at such Place or Places as the Congress may by Law have directed.”

The time to unseat this man is not in 2012. It is now. The impeachment option our Founders handed down to us, signed in their own blood, makes this clear; so that armed revolutions might not ever be necessary again, we are instructed that “when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them us under absolute Despotism, it is their our right, it is their our duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their our future security.”

It has come to that in America, and I offer here the first round of arguments in favor of removing Obama from office now….not after a billion dollars is spent to get him re-elected (and another billion + 1 to prevent it)…but now.

In Chicago, the Nation’s highest gasoline prices are being reported at about $4.27 a gallon (with prices in some areas reportedly being much higher at around $4.60-$4.70). Reports of price gouging? Nope, even though the national average is $3.88. According to CNN, a station in Orlando is charging $5.69 (despite the state average being more like $3.78). Reports there about gouging? Nada.

Shell has been forced to shutter exploration plans off of Alaska (at no small cost in the pain and suffering department of every day Americans)… by the EPA no less… because of potential exhaust pollutants from ice breaking boats. Even though the moratorium that blocked Gulf drilling was lifted, this President has held it, essentially, in check by changing the rules thereby making it not worth the effort to bother trying. Worse, he’s targeting inactive leases before they can catch up to the new rules.

He appears quite content to let gas prices skyrocket even though this is killing the economy, costing American jobs, and forcing companies to file for Chapter 11. Obama, who appears to enjoy rubbing salt in the American wound, is even willing to spend money we don’t have by sending billions to Brazil so THEY can drill instead.

This President, by Executive fiat (and outside the Constitutionally prescribed Legislative process via Congress), has given unprecedented powers to the EPA to control the Energy industry because he failed to close the deal on Cap & Trade. This power has allowed an incremental destruction of the Oil industry and, ostensibly, the energy sector of our economy… such that jobs are being lost and businesses are being forced to close. His willful destruction of the economy, and the oppression he has wrought on his own citizens – ALONE – is enough to bring him into the Senate chamber to stand trial and explain himself.

In Part II, however, we’ll ask the bigger question: “What actual ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ has Obama committed?

There's not much to say... I come from a long line of Appalachian folk that landed in America long before flipping off the King was even a twinkle in the eyes of our founding fathers. We have been Carpenters and coal miners... Soldiers & Sailors and pig farmers and Sunday morning circuit-riding preachers. Hell, I'm told we have even been fairly decent bootleggers too.

  1. As my age went up and my career wound down I would periodically drift into a retirement fantasy which inevitably involved warm turquoise water, sugar sand, lovely breezes, a hammock and several very large stacks of books.
    My fantasy has changed dramatically in the last two years… it is now to be free from listening to all the LIES that fall out of that POS’s mouth every time his lips are moving, having to DVR everything so that I can fast forward past that SMUG face that I would like to slap so hard that it wound up on the back of his arrogant little head (like in the old Daffy Duck cartoons). I have been reduced to hoping for a visit to DC by someone from one of the para-military groups in Idaho along with his 308. And I am seriously angry (can you tell?).
    Whereas I feel there is more than ample justification for impeachment of this two-legged Dumbo caricature on MANY counts, I wonder just how we would get enough of the marxist dems in the Senate to vote for that. If I understand it correctly, it would require 67 votes which means a bunch of those cretins would have to go along and I just don’t see that happening.
    I hope there is a special circle in hell that is being built just for him.

      We need to start a blitz, maybe via Twitter, that highlights the re-election advantages to dem Senators after an Impeachment. Target weak individuals where they can be identified, but for sure get the idea out into the blogosphere.

    Who do we know that is competent to evaluate the Senate democrats for a count of ones who may see Impeachment as their only hope of getting re-elected?

    • That’s a hell of an interesting question EBL…I think it’s do-able, ONLY after it’s made clear to 67 Senators-worth of States just how bad this really is and what it’s going to take to fix it….and, of course, what’s in it for them should they err on the side of being freaking right for the American people for once rather than right for their political ambitions.

  3. The journey of a thousand miles begins with but a single step. At least 20 members of the Senate and House were indictable by 2003. Perhaps even the president after only his first month. Jail should await a few, Hell, them all.

  4. If they find an 18 1/2 minute gap at a critical juncture on a certain….Blackberry….they might get suspicious. Otherwise, as I was told by a certain high-ranking jack-booted thug at a website I used to hang out at …pause…..Obama is our President.
