Obama to Investigate Himself?

There is big trouble at hand for the perpetual campaigner. Four dollars for a gallon of gas is problematic for President Obama’s reelection chances. He can’t answer “where are the jobs?” He knows he better have at least a pretense of an answer for the skyrocketing gasoline prices. To wit, this from Obama:

President Barack Obama said Thursday that the Justice Department will try to “root out” cases of fraud or manipulation in oil markets, even as Attorney General Eric Holder suggested a variety of legal reasons may be behind gasoline’s surge to $4 a gallon.

“We are going to make sure that no one is taking advantage of the American people for their own short-term gain,” Obama said at a town-hall style meeting at a renewable energy plant in Reno, Nev. –From AP

Good Gas Almighty! Does the President believe anyone is going to take him seriously? He is on record as preferring higher gasoline prices. Now he wants to “root out” cases of fraud? What is he going to do . . . investigate himself? Somebody should.

Barak Obama is a man without shame. He is just not serious about our energy crisis. He sees it as another opportunity to fundamentally change America and he isn’t about to let it go to waste.

Obama has drilling shut down in the Gulf. He and his administration work to prevent drilling across the country. He will not consider his job finished until the United States energy misery equals that of Germany.

The President is a fraud on gas prices, but the lame stream media is not about to tell Americans the truth. Root hog, or die! The Gray Lady would rather die.

  1. I thought exactly the same thing, TG. Obama should investigate himself because he’s doing this for his own short term gain, namely re-election. I’ve been telling everyonr I know, repeatedly, to ask themselves “When did gas prices start to go up?” If they say “When the unrest in the Middle East started” which is most of them unfortunately I say “Bzzzzzt! Wrong answer.” No doubt that’s what escalated it, but the correct answer is when the drilling moratorium was imposed.

  2. Gee I wonder if anyone in the media besides Fox will point out that Obama’s Sec of energy is on record of wanting European level ($9/gal) gasoline prices ????

This is a cheap campaigning ploy. Obamination wants a gas price dip before the election. If he is re-elected he will resume accelerated attacks on energy supply.

  3. I am listening for the voices of all those new bloods we elected to Congress last year. Voting on budgets is only part of the job. Congress has at least ten weeks scheduled for them going back home to listen to the folks. Did they not understand the message the folks sent with them last year? Where are the hearings on what the administration did/is doing? Where are the bills to strip authority from the left-wing riddled agencies?

  4. “…taking advantage of the American people for their own short-term gain…”
Of course, this excludes taking advantage of the American people for Long Term Gain , such as “Fundamentally Transforming” the Country.

  5. I had to laugh when I first heard he’s trying to figure out why oil is high. It couldn’t have anything do do with shutting down a big chunk of US production or bombing the country with the largest proven oil reserves in Africa.

I had a liberal on my local paper try to tell me it’s all the fault of the Koch brothers because they had 4 tankers full of oil parked offshore.

These people have NO concept of markets or supply/demand.

  6. Don’t regularly watch Katie, but CBS led with the high gas prices tonight and….*immediately segued into CONGRESS’ low approval ratings (now that R’s have the House!)*….followed immediately by how the Prez is on the case telling his dogs to investigate and look for fraud. It is comic relief when it is not sickeningly fawning.
