Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA) tells a 27 year veteran “…time to sit down”

Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA) tells a veteran who asked the question “Why are you here instead of in Congress working on preventing a shutdown?” that his comments are “caustic” and to “go sit down”. In other words, shut up.

The vet goes on to complain that the shutdown may “…go longer because Congress is on vacation.”

Yeah, I can see how possibly having his vacation questioned may upset a Democrat like Jim Moron Moran.

[UPDATE] Ace reminds us, this is the same Jim Moran who thought his political opponent’s military service didn’t qualify him as a “public servant” the way Moran’s lifetime as a political hack does.

  1. Well, to be fair, Erick, Moran is only taking his cue from the Vacationer in Chief. If it’s good enough for Bambi, it’s good enough for them.

You know what these idiots completely discount? The same thing they discounted during the Bush years– and that is the number of families who have someone in the military or who know someone in the military who they very much appreciate, admire and support fully. Not to mention the communities who have turned out in staggering numbers to honor the KIA military members at their funerals. Americans consider the military to be the last bastion of honorable people who actually know the meaning of “to serve and protect.” And who also consider the Constitution to be the final authority on what is and is not legal in this country.

So let this bunch do what they are planning to do. And then let’s see how well that works out for them. In the meantime, we need to figure out how to help the military families that this will impact. Fundraising efforts to help pay their bills? Care packages for those at home who need food for their kids? Whatever we can do to help them, we need to do it.

    • Tell me, Erick, or anyone else who may know, is there an agreement or contract that a recruit or an enlisted person who is re-upping signs that states what they are paid and how often? Is that a binding contract on the government as the employer?

And are there any legal steps that could be taken on their behalf if it could be shown that the government is going to breach the contract by not paying the employee?

  2. This really condescending attitude of the CongressCritters shows each time they are on the end of a push back from the people. Rep. Moran really showed the attitude in full force when the vet took exception to his comments. That a Representative of the people turns around and publicly shows this attitude towards the people who elected his sorry butt, especially a vet who respectfully asked a question, is ludicrous. I hope those people remember this when they vote the next time.

That was almost as bad as Baron Hill when he told the people it was his meeting!!

  3. Jim Moron is a real piece of work. In January of this year he made the statement that”the reason the Republicans gained 63 seats in the House was because of racism, and that that was the same reason the Civil War happened.”

In March of 03, the same moron told some campaign staff members that it was those evil jooooos that were pushing the country to war in Iraq. A jewish staffer quit his campaign over that statement.

He has been investigated for ethics charges several times, but always escapes the noose of punishment.

We didn’t get all of our VA elections right in 09 and 10, but, hopefully we will take care of the rest of the Communists in 12.
