Oconomy: Energy Prices Up, Up, Up


Sometimes the numbers just say it all.  Given the Obama Administration’s hostile stance towards energy production, the trashing of the dollar by the Fed and the chronic instability of the oil-rich Middle East, one might expect an upward trajectory in energy prices.  And one would be right.

Average March crude prices have increased 15% over February levels, while the increase in heating oil is close to 10%.

During the economic recovery of the mid-Bush years, analysts were worrying about the impact of the rise of crude oil to the $50-$60 price range.  In retrospect, those were the good old days!
