HomeRecommendedWhy is there anyone left in CA?

Why is there anyone left in CA?

Yes, I know. Sunshine. And… what, exactly? The state is boned. Hosed. Terminally and perpetually screwed and tattooed. It’s all over but the cryin’.

If you pay any attention to Monty over at Ace of Spades, you already know this. It’s not even new news. And Monty isn’t the only one who has noticed.

But why? Why is this? This is the state of the Gold Rush. This is the state descended from those who were willing to risk all, taking nothing with them but what they could carry, and try to make a better life. Try to make something of themselves. And now, what do they have? Failure.

Their state is in debt in such a manner that they can’t fiscally survive and yet they continue to elect liberal democrats, the same ones who have controlled the state for 50 years, who bury their heads in the sand and sacrifice the future of the people they are to represent. Why do you guys allow this?

A friend of mine supplied me with a list of state agencies, reproduced below, which illustrate the problem. Every one of these agencies is staffed, pensioned, health cared, vacationed, and supplied. Every one of them suck money from the public treasury. Some are necessary, though probably not in the manner they are currently operated, but some are superfluous, to say the least. Others are positively destructive.

Why do you allow this? Have the bureaucrats just gradually worn you down? Do you truly not care if you live free or not? Each of these agencies, in addition to their financial cost, carry a personal burden as well. There is no governmental agency in existence that doesn’t impose regulatory burdens on the citizens under its purview. None. Some are obscenely onerous (I’m looking at you, EPA.) while others are fairly unexceptional. But all have a cost.

Now look at who controls your future and your freedom, CA. Look at the bureaucrats taking your earnings and spending it on their own agendas. Look at the agencies with control of your lives. You are the only ones who can change this. You are the only ones who can make a decision if you’re going to live free or allow your freedom to die.

Fortunately for you, if you can’t convince the remainder of your electorate to take back their lives, FL is just a little ways away and has the same sunshine. Plus they have Allen West, Marco Rubio and Rick Scott. All you’ll give up is Gov. Moonbeam, Sen Dumb-as-a-box-of-rocks and Senator Graft and Corruption Feinstein, plus assorted loony Congresscritters.

(and thanks to my friend, Jay, for the list)

Queen Hotchibobo
I was born in Saginaw, Michigan, and I grew up in a house on Saginaw Bay. My daddy was a poor, hardworking Saginaw fisherman. Too many times he came home with too little pay. Naw, not really, but it sounds more interesting than the real bio, so there you are.

    • That had to be a culture shock. Home of Tom Coburn, the only state in which Barack Obama carried not one single county, to the land of fruits and nuts, Governor Moonbeam and Rep Stark.

I’m not sure I could mentally accept that adjustment.

  1. As a current Californian I would estimate that you found less than half with your list here. It’s truly an awsome thing the libs have created.

But remember: The crazy whackos started here and began their ‘transfromation’ with the local school boards in the 1960’s and worked up from there. Of course CA has been the hardest hit.

Why does anybody stay here? Personally, I have family here who will not accept a clue, let alone buy one. I hope to be here to enlighten them when the scales finally fall from their eyes.

    • You know, they may one day wake up about it, but what then? A friend of mine *Could Not* quit smoking. Couldn’t. Not even when she had to go outside during break and suck down a quick one in -10 degree weather.

Until she got small cell lung cancer. For the next six months, she never smoked another. But it didn’t make any difference, her life was at its end.

I’m afraid your state may be the same way. They may eventually wake up, but when the car is on it’s way off the bluff is no time to decide that was the wrong road.

    • Ok…well *that’s* a scary thought, Larry. And to think I was about to respond with a comment to the Queen that that was one helluva list.

I certainly didn’t read them all (so many departments…so little time) but my favorite that jumped off the page for me was the Dept. for Braille Libraries (or something along those lines)

You have my deepest and most profound sympathies, Larry. Two well-known, well-funded candidates in a Republican tsunami year…and they still both lost by double digits.

      Wow….just wow!

  2. I’m CA born and raised. We have lost 1.2 million taxpayers in ten years. Part of our deficit is those leaving who have awakened to the insanity out here. We hope to leave, however, there is this little catch 22 called Obamacare. If we can’t find doctors to accept us in another state, we’re sr***d. We never thought we’d leave the state. Our kids left and they said they would NEVER return.

We can thank moombean for the problem with approx $600 million in unfunded public worker pensions. AND, moombean has three pensions from what I hear. ALL government pensions. Maybe the best thing to happen here is an earthquake that just lets SF and LA float off to the west. Leave them to themselves.

Larry get out before it hits. LOL You’re right it is the brainwashed students out our public schools, the embalmed minds of the elitists, who have used Saul Alinksky rules for many years. Corruption, selfishness and greed, and above all political correctness that has doomed this state and that has happened just within one generation.

  3. California has been in my blood since 1848 and from an intrepid few who crossed the ice bridge according to my grandmother. I’d truly love to toss out that lot of lefty-loosey rat bag easterners who showed up in the 60’s and never left.

  4. Pamela don’t forget we have a couple million south of border usurpers here in CA well. We have over 93 hospitals that have closed because they couldn’t stay open with all the free medical they are mandated to give. I’ve seen video of illegals being interviewed coming out of Emergency. When asked, “do you feel bad that the American’s are paying for your free medical care? Answer: NO they’re rich they should pay.” We see this attitude all over the state of CA and in our schools.

  5. Even though my dispatch sounds pretty harsh, I really do feel bad for you guys. Sometimes KC and StL gang up and override the sensible electoral decisions of the rest of us and it makes me sick.

I hate being electorally over-ridden by someone without the brains to come in out of the rain. But at least we win most of the time. If I *constantly* lost, if KC and StL were large enough to over-run us every single time and I had to pack up and move away from my life and my family to escape, it would make me sick.

  6. Good god! And I thought the Federal Government was bloated!
Calif. elections don’t make sense. They had the Dem. Gov. who was a nightmare, got rid of him. Arnold ran as a fiscal conservative, fooled some people, turned out to be a RINO, the State is bankrupt, so what do the people do? Elect a lib!. The people out in the Agricultural areas are getting screwed by the Feds and the Calif. environuts, the business community is falling off the cliff, and they still have a CARB. Why? People are lying or elections are rigged or both.
