Reconciled To Mitt Romney?

mitt-romney

If I were president, on Day One I would issue an executive order paving the way for Obamacare waivers to all 50 states. The executive order would direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services and all relevant federal officials to return the maximum possible authority to the states to innovate and design health-care solutions that work best for them.

Who else will come forward and say this?

Would he keep his promise?

Would he expand this new-found love of federalism to other ill-advised bills and laws?

Is this how he shakes off Romney-care?

  1. I believe that we have the US Supreme Court for a reason. I understand the tactics of defunding an abomination passed by a previous Congress, but it can also be refunded. I understand issuing an executive order to thwart the actions of a previous administration or Congress, but again, executive orders are routinely rescinded, or expire. Obamacare has to be found unconstitutional by the supreme court and the opinion for the majority has to be so strongly worded as to give inspiration and guidance to Constitutional Conservatives at all levels to use the judiciary as it was intended. Much as we all profess to abhor ‘judicial activism’, as one fellowonce put it, extremism in the defense oif liberty is no vice, or something like that. Dogged pursuit of relief in defense of the Constitution is a virtue. Thank God for State Governors and State Attoney Generals and thank God for the Tenth Amendment.

    • Agree, except that I’ll clarify that I don’t consider appropriately applying the constructs of the Constitution to the laws as judicial activism. To me, that term means that judges rule the way they want the case (or the world, or the Congress) to be and not the way the law is written or not according to the constraints placed on the laws by the Constitution.

But yes, the SC needs to knock this sucker down and down hard. If they aren’t willing to acknowledge that the Constitution does not allow this activity on the part of the Feds, they are worse than useless. They are actively involved in the destruction of the country.

  2. Just saw a clip of Obama saying how he admires Romney for Romneycare. This is what will go on for the rest of campaign season. Save you bucks Mitt, your not getting any younger, and I’m sure Ann would prefer LeSueur Peas to store brand.

  3. The good news is that most of these old dogs will pack up their tents early. They are goaded on by the fear mongers of the Left believe it or not, who want them to run and win. These guys they don’t fear. Their day has gone and they will know it pretty quick. If not, well, there’s more than one way to show a fellow the door.
