Florida – Firearm Owners Privacy Act.

Hi.

If you don’t know, I live in Flori-duh and most of us here take our Rights and privacy rather seriously.

Some doctors around the state (and nation) have been demanding their patients tell them how many weapons they own and are entering the information in records. Pediatricians are asking children if their parents own evil scary-looking guns.

Our State House Of Representatives Criminal Justice Committee has passed State House Bill 155, nominally known as The Firearms Owners Privacy Protection Act.

Good deal, right ? Yes, but somewhat alarming in the vote tally.

The vote was 9 ‘yea’, 6 ‘nay’. One democrat voted ‘yea’. That means two NRA A-Rated “Republicans” voted “nay”.

Article at The N.R.A. I.L.A. website: Two Republicans Vote Against Gun Owners In Florida.

The “Republicans” — One from Satellite Beach (Tobia Dist. 31) and the other is a freshman from Miami (Trujillo – Dist. 116).

As to the two “Republicans” who both promised their constituents who voted them in, that they would vote 100% for protecting the 2nd Amendment and our Rights as Floridians, um…… You disingenuous hypocritical lying sacks of s…… Oops…… Tone…… Civility.

We need this passed through the legislature and it’s a given that Governor Scott will sign it into law.

Know why ?

If this is allowed to continue, what’s to stop anyone of an ‘authority figure’ from asking anything of you that’s none of their damn business and denying you service or anything else if you don’t comply ?

This is The United States Of America and not some Clockwork Orange, Rollerball, Logan’s Run, Soylent Green world of wonders.

  1. NRA should pull those endorsements IMMEDIATELY and advertise that said endorsements have been pulled and why.

NRA can be irritating. Their policy is to never endorse anyone who doesn’t have a voting record. HOWEVER, one would think exceptions could be made. Like the Toledo cop running for US House against Kaptur, even though he capped a serial killer in the forehead with one shot and I see him at the range regularly with an NRA cap, NRA refused to endorse him.

    • Amen, LIO. The NRA’s ‘try to keep a leg on each side of the fence’ mentality might have had some credence back when there was actually a Democrat Party that wasn’t wholly owned by the Radical Left. But now? I don’t get it.

The least they could do is what the GOA does which is score the vote for the Speaker of the House and the Majority Leader in the Senate. Seeing as how that’s *the* most important vote of any session, I’m not sure why they don’t/won’t do that.

  2. Let’s see…

    1) Doctors list gun ownership in medical records.
    2) Medical records are wanted to be electronic.
    3) UN or other government critter happens to get a copy of the list.

    Nah, no problem.

  3. Hi Kenny, 1st of all let me say I was sorry to learn your Mother had passed. Mine did as well, last fall, It hurts. I like you for alot of reasons and being a good loving son is just one of them.

Now let me say, you have always scared the beelzabub out of me. That is a good thing. I feel this is all serious, as well, and we need to be informed and thinking ahead.

Finally, I worry you don’t sleep well at night. Take your vitamins dear.

    • Hi and thanks – much appreciated.

Sleep. I remember that. Sort of. Maybe. A little.

I used to do something along those lines on a regular basis when I was employed. Alas, that has not been the case since July of last year.

So I find myself tripping the interweb fantastic at all hours and uncovering things of a nature to indeed alert those who are having difficulty realizing the reality of our own government as a combined Totalitarian Jihad and the possibility of “it” going down is staring them straight in the eyes.

Vitamins, ah yes…… A well-known brand every morning, then chasing the white ball with a crooked stick around a 6,200 yard pasture on the grounds where I live and after, a wee dram of liquid heaven from the old country.

T’were it that I could do this every day, all day. But as fate would have it, current fundage shall prohibit ‘the life of Riley’ and at some point soon, I must return to the real world of gainful employ — which is why I am in current process of obtaining certification for instructing others in the fine art of safely handling, transporting, maintaining and of course operating various and magnificent toys that go bang.

      Cheers from South Flori-duh !

      • Too Funny. Too Good. (Your response)

That “wee dram” wouldn’t happen to be Bushmills from the ol’ Sod would it? Heretofore known as BushmillsFromOldSod or just shortened to BS(Bushmill Sod).

Hmm, Could you pass me the limes? I’ve been told Scurvy is a terrible affliction.

        • The wee dram would be “The Bird” – a.k.a. Famous Grouse (‘Black’ or ‘Gold Reserve’ – both blends) and when the mood strikes, The Glenlivet 15 (Port Cask Finishing).

As much as it is to my personal liking, along with being a sort of tribute to a well-known wordsmith at our new home here at U.P., there’s a about half remaining in quite lovely bottle of Bushmills 16 within arms reach at the moment of typing this commentary.

  4. The Bird is the real deal – famous grouse dot com –
Been enjoying since before reading my first book by Mr. Butterworth several decades ago. I’ve all his releases, btw. His son is handling most of the duties now.

As for limes…… I’ve a big bag of Key Limes, but not the regular type.
