All Eyes On Indiana Conservatives: Lugar goes wobbly, as usual, on spending cuts

From The Hill:

Republican Sen. Lugar to oppose House GOP’s $61B spending cuts

Oh, but Lugar might be “primaried.”

Lugar, who is facing a Tea Party-backed challenge in the 2012 Indiana Republican primary, is taking a political risk. But he and other centrist Republicans have concerns about steep spending cuts that will eliminate funding for some federal programs in mid-year.

So, Indiana conservative Republicans, what are you going to DO about it?

I wonder how many conservative Republicans in Indiana will flock into their respective Republican Party local committee meetings to make a successful primary challenge happen? Saying something will happen, and actually making it happen, are two different things.

In Indiana? Conservative? Want to get involved? Here are the rules (and, I trust you will be resourceful and will find your local committee and get to the meetings — oh, and by the way, looks like Indiana is on a four-year precinct committeeman election cycle, and you won’t be able to get elected until the 2012 elections):

And here’s a nice overview created by someone in Floyd County:

https://www.daveweb1a.com/GOP/pcelect.html

From the Floyd County web page, this is good:

JUST THINK NUMBERS FOR A MINUTE…..

2 National Committeemen
4 State Officers
36 District Officers
384 County Officers
5602 Precincts in Indiana (This would be 11,204 people if all committeemen and vice committeemen spots were filled.)

You can see by the sheer numbers who touches and influences the most people. This is why your role as a committeeman is so important. The success of the Party rests with you!! You are the front line. People elect you because they know and respect your opinion. They depend on you to lead them…motivate them…give advice and answer their questions and listen to their concerns. You are the Public Relations person for your precinct.

Good luck, Indiana conservatives! Make us proud!

By the way, I tried to find more information at the Indiana Republican Party web site. They make things so easy — first, if you want to see what’s on their web site, you’ve got create a user ID and password. Very helpful.

Thank you.

Just a citizen who believes each conservative American's top priority should be active engagement as a precinct committeeman in the political Party our Founders and Framers would be members of if they were alive now: The Republican Party. I am an American first, a conservative second and a Republican precinct committeeman by necessity to secure the Blessings of Liberty to myself and my posterity.
