When NASA Was Young..

After I had read the links after links of the death spiral of a climate science junk satellite that crumbled to the earth the other day, it occurred to me that NASA hasn’t done much since becoming politically correct. It was a young and ambitious NASA with the support of a Democrat President JFK that looked to the future and brought America to new heights of modernity. It has been the liberalization of and politicization thereof of NASA that has sent it into the depths of a death spiral of its own Planet Gore.

Quite like the Justice Department has fallen by the political wayside as a fair arbiter of the laws of America, so to has NASA succumbed to the whims of legislators. America will know she has settled back into the Country that is envied by the World when agencies that are supposed to be exempt from politics goes back to being EXEMPT from politics!

  1. No one can serve two masters. You can either successfully launch rockets to explore space, or you can do outreach to Muslim countries, not both at the same time. This is what happens when The Bosses change the Mission Statement. “Nice little space program you have there, be a shame if anything happened to it…”

  2. What NASA accomplished in its early years was, quite literally, awe-inspiring. Stop and think back, for a moment, to how it felt when you watched those early launches, the first moon-walk, etc. on TV. At our school, they would roll those big TVs on stands into the classroom so we could watch. It would seem that the left/progressives don’t want anybody feeling that same sense of awe and pride.

    • Exactly, Kimberly. I well remember those big TVs on the stands at school. And gathering around one at someone’s house with my Sunday School class when we walked on the moon for the first time. “Awe-inspiring” was exactly the right phrase.

As opposed to “yawn-inducing” at this point.

    • It has been that attack on Nationalism that the left figured out was the way to pick off Americans one by one and create the conditions for a full frontal attack on our greatness and that was proven in 2008. It is no coincidence all of those attacks on our President for eight years and our Military at the same time with the vile we used to use against an enemy created the USA as enemy #1 and that what was needed was some bullcrap hope and change….it worked once, it will NOT again!

  3. I remember watching Neil Armstrong walk on the moon, and hearing his famous words “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” back in 69. In 2011 the Obama admin has taken one giant leap backwards for NASA and all of mankind.
